The primary purpose of this role is to Provide input into the use of technology and definition of architectural approaches applied within Allscripts software solutions to meet the company and customer's long-term requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Define disaster recovery and back recovery architecture. Define and maintain BIA (business impact analysis) for disaster recovery and back recovery.

  • Determine and maintain disaster recovery and back recovery standards and policies.

  • Define, implement and maintain a common technology and architectural strategy across all Allscripts applications and cloud infrastructures to enable a secure and reliable applications delivery to our customers in a Hosted Environment

  • Provide guidance in best practice and tool use in the design and build of technical solutions and the applications built on them in the following areas:

  • Converged/Hyperconverged Infrastructure

  • Cloud/Virtualization Architecture and engineering

  • Data Protection solutions and architecture (DR, BR, etc.)

  • Operating System, and ancillary system Architecture and Engineering

  • Hardware Architecture and Engineering

  • In concert with other infrastructure architects within Allscripts create a center of expertise and forum for sharing technical knowledge

  • Perform detailed technical reviews to ensure infrastructure architecture components are being correctly implemented

  • Provide input into the best application of technology to create the next generation of Allscripts solutions and services

  • Drive continuous innovation by maintaining knowledge of technology trends in the marketplace to be able to recommend innovative solutions to add business value.

  • Familiarity with industry changes in technology standards, information management, infrastructure standards, methods and emerging 3rd party software in order to advise on technology and leverage industry best practice in the design and support of Allscripts software products

  • Work with various teams to ensure understanding of hosting architecture infrastructure requirements and to gain alignment on proposed technology solutions for public and private cloud deployments

  • Possesses expert-level technical and analytical skills required to diagnose, isolate and resolve problems

  • Leader of Tier 3 and 4 problem management teams and advanced Triage teams.

  • Design end-to-end systems composed of server hardware, OS, software, advanced networking and storage to provide robust infrastructure architecture

  • Strong working experience with infrastructure products (VMware, Zerto, Veeam, MS Server edition, MS-SQL, Azure, etc.)

  • Strong working experience with storage infrastructure products (EMC, Pure, and Netapp)

  • Work with Hosting Operations to establish operational strategies; ensures strategies are in line with the organization's goals including service quality initiatives. Manage the department with data and metric driven decisions

  • Manage a mix of long term projects, short term service requests, and daily emergencies, with a high degree of flexibility and effective delegation

  • Provide input in the drive for constantly improving the scalability, extensibility, interoperability, reliability, availability and performance of Allscripts software products.

  • Plan, prepare, participate and/or lead infrastructure architecture reviews

  • Possess strong leadership skills and proven ability to communicate and collaborate with different audiences representing various technical disciplines

  • Excellent oral and written communications

  • Participate in the definition and documentation of architecture standards and best practices

Academic and Professional

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 4+ years' experience in software engineering and/or software architecture

  • Strong Healthcare industry knowledge (HIPAA, HITRUST etc.)

  • Excellent technical leadership and problem-solving skills and must take responsibility to bring the work to completion within deadlines

  • Solid communication and listening skills with ability to collaborate with peers

  • Demonstrable understanding of infrastructure architecture principles and methods, technology and standards

  • Highly motivated by creating business value through the effective use of technology

Location:

  • Raleigh NC, Alpharetta GA, or Remote

Travel Requirements:

  • May require local travel

  • May require other travel for business needs

Working Arrangements:

  • May require on call after hours support

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
