Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for an Archaeologist for the Columbia, South Carolina office. Applicants should have experience working in outdoor field conditions, and experience with Phase I surveys and Phase II archaeological site testing in the Southeastern United States. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully work independently and cooperatively in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
This is a full-time position with benefits.
Perform Archaeological Assessments, Phase I surveys and Phase II testing
Communicate daily progress to Principle Investigator/Project Manager
Work effectively with multiple project managers, field teams and field archaeologists
Complete work assignments and projects on schedule and within budget
Must possess excellent communication and technical writing skills. Writing examples may be requested for review during application process
Skills / Qualifications
BA in Anthropology or related discipline, (MA preferred)
Three years of related experience
Experience managing field crews
Drug test and background check required
Experience with Phase I surveys and Phase II excavations in the Southeast
Experience with GIS
