Orange County based full-service, interdisciplinary environmental consulting firm that specializes in Natural & Cultural Resources is seeking a Culture Resource Project Manager. The Cultural Resource Project Manager will help manage and support cultural resources and planning projects in the Southern California region. Projects involve prehistoric and historical archaeology, architectural history, paleontology, and ethnology.
Job Description:
Manage projects and milestones within schedule and budget expectations
Author and review stand-alone cultural resource reports, assessments, and cultural resource portions of documents as related to Federal and State Agencies
Manage the financial performance of individual projects and effectively coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies
Manage client relationships and conduct business development with new and existing clients
Collaborate with clients, Team members, and resource and regulatory agencies to obtain permits and clearances for project completion
Supervise, mentor and instruct subcontractors, technical staff and field personnel
Peer review cultural resource reports from other consultants
Prepare reports related to Section 106, National Environmental Policy Act technical documents, proposals, white papers and other written deliverables and responses related to various permitting/planning, compliance projects and regulations as required
Perform QA/QC oversight of field data to support report-writing, proposals, environmental permit applications and tracking and CEQA/NEPA documentation
Develop recommendations for mitigation measures, monitoring, and permitting specific to cultural resource management
Maintain a collaborative work environment and positive morale among staff, subcontractors, and clients
Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner
Perform fieldwork (survey, testing, archaeological monitoring, and data recovery) and/or supervising field crews
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology Paleontology, Anthropology or similar.
7+ years of experience performing Archaeology related field activities and reports
2+ years of Project Management experience preferred.
Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulatory agencies governing cultural resource management (i.e., SHPO, NAVFAC, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in increasing levels of responsibility, including supervising, providing leadership, and mentoring for other professionals
Proven business development success and consulting acumen, including established credibility with Federal and State reviewing agencies and clients
Prior advanced experience with proposal writing
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and technical writing Candidate should be a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA)
Additional Information:
Compensation: $75,000 to $90,000 per year (Negotiable based upon experience)
