Arborist II

Hours: Full time; M - F; 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 Some overtime required for special projects or emergency storm damage.  Will be placed on emergency call out list with Lincoln Police Department.

This is a crew leader position involving all phases of the care and maintenance of city trees. THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION IS SUBJECT TO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICIES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent with at least 2 years of responsible experience in tree care activities and the operation of specialized tree care equipment, and 6 months of experience supervising a work crew, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid driver's license.

Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 60 days of appointment. Successful completion of the City of Lincoln's First Class Arborist Examination within 6 months of appointment. Possession and maintenance of a valid Nebraska Certified Pesticide Applicator license within 6 months of appointment.
