Arborist

Description:

A top leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking Arborists to join their dynamic team in NYC! This is an exceptional long-term contract opportunity with ample room for growth within one of the premier engineering firms in the area.

As an Arborist you will be responsible for contractor oversight for emerald ash borer treatment, block pruning, emergency storm work, report writing, use of city FORMS System and stump inspections.

Responsibilities:

• Work on Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) project with Parks Department assessing trees for beetles that are threatening to NYC trees

• Construction oversight on project sites

• Inspection of trees

• Daily reporting

• Contractor oversight for emerald ash borer treatment, block pruning, emergency storm work, report writing, use of city FORMS System and stump inspections.

• Work with contractors

• Daily reporting

Qualifications:

• Personal vehicle

• ISA certification for New York or the ISA equivalent for New Jersey

• 1+ year of experience on forestry related projects

• 1+ year experience in tree maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment of tree pests and diseases, pruning

• Construction oversight experience

• Great communication and writing skills

Work Environment:

100 percent field based

Traveling 20-40 sites per day

Work will go through October full time, then slow down in winter, pick up again full time around March
