SUMMARY Oversee and coordinate the day-to day activities of a small team of local and global part time and full-time collectors, and cash applicators. The Service Accounts Receivable/Collections Supervisor is a working supervisor who will assist the staff in the completion of team goals most notably ensuring timely and consistent follow up on past due accounts and facilitating the removal of barriers to payment. Reports to the Sr. Director, Service Finance
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise a team of collectors to ensure timely and consistent follow up on past due accounts and achievement of cash/collections goals, coordinating across KVH billing systems.
Supervise cash application, and the credit card payment cycle/process, and credit processing, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Ensure that operational processes and standards are followed for the cash and collections functions, including SOX requirements. Assist in creating new and refining existing processes.
Actively collect on customers and support the team in handling their customers and address related escalations.
Manage customer disputes and the related disputes process; propose solutions, and communicate to customers.
Research, reconcile, and analyze customer account history and activity and propose solutions to facilitate removal of barriers to payment.
Provide customer assessment of bad debt and revenue reserves.
Work closely with other KVH departments and external customers on billing and collection related matters that require attention and resolution.
Maintain collections documentation and communication history in a centralized, accessible way utilizing the billing systems and Salesforce.
Maintain relationship(s) with external collection agencies.
Report out to management on a regular basis on cash, customer status and action plans.
Finance degree preferred, or 10+ years of Collections and Accounts Receivable experience required.
Two years of previous supervisory experience required.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.
Previous experience working with a major ERP application preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly customer service oriented.
