Accountemps is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. Candidates who are looking for great career growth potential and a great benefits package will be interested in joining this quickly growing accounting team. If you're interested in work where you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, you will succeed in this position. Since the Accounts Receivable Clerk will handle 200+ invoices a week, they must be a self-starter with high attention to detail. This is a long term temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Nashville, Tennessee area. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP - Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

  • Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers

  • Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders

  • Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization

  • Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks

  • Verify documents and codes

  • Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers


  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred

  • TruckMate TMS experience desired

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred

  • Accounts receivable experience preferred

  • Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
