GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets-up and operates aqueous cleaning system.

  • Perform manual wiping and inspection.

  • Retrieving, handling, lifting, and moving component parts and assembled instruments from/to assigned work locations.

  • Preparing instruments and parts for cleaning; Operating system and conveyors at each work station.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Material Handling and Preparation: Required to follow prescribed material handling methods, and to move instruments, parts, and fixtures (up to 30 lbs.) to assigned areas.

  • Fixture Set-up and Selection: Required to select fixtures from floor level storage bins (weighing up to 10 lbs.) for each assigned assembly.

  • System Control and Set-up: Required to select (by hand), from a menu driven PLC, the correct cleaning and rinse settings, conveyor speeds, and oven drying temperatures for each specific instrument.

  • Cleaning System Operation: Tank Cleaning and Anti-tarnish Treatment. Required to mount instruments to each designated fixture, and lift and load instruments (up to 25 lbs.) to an overhead conveyor 89" above floor level.

  • Instrument Wiping and Inspection: Required to carefully and completely inspect and wipe each assigned instrument. Required to lift (up to 25 lbs.), maneuver, wipe (by hand using approved cloths and compounds), and visually inspect all instrument surfaces.

  • Tank Solution Maintenance and Change-overs: Employee must maintain and change all tank solutions, drain tanks (into prescribed containers), clean tanks, and properly stage accumulations of spent solutions for disposal. Employee must handle and maneuver large drums of chemicals (55 Gal.).

  • Post Plating Inspection and Packaging: Required to clean plated instruments by applying a liquid or paste compound to remove any finger marks or other blemishes on surface.

  • Complies with Eastlake Policies and Procedures, and with functional and cosmetic quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Regular Attendance.

  • Manufacturing Process aptitude.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work.

  • Ability to stand for 8 consecutive hours, including lifting and maneuvering instruments to an overhead conveyor.

  • Ability to safely lift 10-25 lbs. overhead unassisted.

  • Ability to visually inspect and wipe all instrument surfaces.

  • Ability to handle and maneuver large drums of chemicals, 55 gal.

  • Exposure to manufacturing environment, including dust, noise and vibration.
