Program Summary

KBR maintains and manages Army Prepositioned Stocks

  • 3 (APS-3) at the 404th Army Field Support Battalion

  • Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site and aboard ship to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The KBR APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek, SC in support of the Army's power projection doctrine and resources. The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, IX) to ensure that unit sets stored aboard marine vessels are configured and maintained at optimal readiness. KBR provides limited maintenance and supply support aboard ship to ensure that equipment sets are maintained in a ready condition for emergency download and issue to operating units at the direction of the US Army. KBR also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs, IAW individual scope of work contract requirements.

GCSS-Army Contracting Training Manager

Army Preposition Stock-3 (APS-3) Logistic Information System Instructor

Acts as the Program's primary Instructor/Training Manager for Maintenance, Supply, and Property Book Management operations within the Logistics Information Systems (LIS) - Global Combat Support System

  • Army (GCSS-Army) for civilian contracted personnel. Operate as the Program owner for all things GCSS-Army system related. This position reports directly to the Program Office and has no direct reports. The Training Manager will coordinate and manage a small team during classroom instruction. This is a new position. The candidate will have the opportunity develop courseware along with the Quality Department and Program Management Office.

GCSS-Army is a Systems, Applications, Products in Data Processing (SAP). This is the U.S. Army primary system to manage maintenance, supply, and property management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Train all Program contractor personnel that perform daily GCSS-Army functions for the APS-3 team and special projects.

  • Using Program maintenance, supply, and property management Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) documents, the instructor will develop and revise course curriculum and schedules using instructional system design & development (ISD) methodology.

  • Develop and select training aids, such as multimedia visual aids, SOP, and training handbooks. Evaluate effectiveness of training/course presentations.

  • Test students to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training.

  • Conduct, facilitate and lead training presentations, focusing primarily on accountability operations and related subjects.

  • Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods and utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness.

  • Coordinate with the APS-3 training department who maintains a record(s) of required certification(s) and status of each employee as well as providing follow up over-the-shoulder training at work locations.

  • Follow up with the instructor team at the user level to assess the effectiveness of training and report the findings to the Program Management Office (PMO). Engage with Division Managers and Section Supervisors on the GCSS-Army training needs within the Program.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested to include providing reports related to training, course development, and instructor duties.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Common Access Card (CAC) issuance.

  • Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.

  • Must have requisite experience in GCSS-Army managing Army assets (requisitioning, receiving, reconciliation and stock control) to provide training.

  • The GCSS-Army Trainer will be required to train personnel in both maintenance and supply activities (stratifications, trend analysis, data integrity, conducting location surveys, developing stock record accounts, conducting reconciliation processes).

  • Requires the ability to operate Microsoft application software including but limited to word-processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand - between 5 to 6 hours per day.

  • Must be able to walk - between 3 to 4 hours per day.

  • Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs.

  • 50 lbs. periodically.
  • Must be able to squat, bend, reach and climb periodically.

  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required.

  • Preferred experience as a DoD contractor, GSA employee, or uniformed military with the ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.

  • Emphasis in education of adult teaching and learning technologies.

  • Our workforce is paid hourly based on a guaranteed 40-hour work week; the daily schedule is from 6:30 am
  • 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday (work hours are determined by the hiring manager).
  • This is an hourly exempt position that is expected not to work overtime. If needed hourly exempt positions are paid straight time over 40 hours a week.

  • The APS-3 daily schedule is a 4-day workweek with the potential for overtime during high-demand missions.

  • The APS-3 standard workweek schedule is from 6:30 am

  • 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday with possible overtime of up to 8 hours (as the mission demands).
  • The APS-3 workforce receives 11 Federal Holidays per year in addition to paid time off.
