POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Neuropsychiatry based at the USF Rothman Center. The team works collaboratively to treat a wide range of both adult and pediatric patients.

The Rothman Center offers an integrated practice of clinical care for individuals with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), autism spectrum disorders, tic disorders, PANDAS, trichotillomania, learning disorders, and body dysmorphic disorder that is all-encompassing and multi-disciplinary, from diagnosis and evidence-based treatment to education, research, and outreach. Within this paradigm, the Center?s, and allied health care professionals function as interdisciplinary teams to deliver an expanded repertoire of safe and effective treatments that include a focus on the whole person as well as the family unit. This goal is consistent with the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of health-related research and the renewed focus on integrative care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical: Treatment of child and adolescent patients with psychiatric disorders, may include some adult patients with approval of the division director

Research: May participate in research, clinical trials, and other contract deliverables held by the division. Research may increase depending on the number of trials.

Responsible to a Chair, chief or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities.

May be responsible for research and/or academic advising and related activities.

May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.

Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Master's or DNP degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible. Must have an active APRN Florida License.

Must have proof of national certification. Must meet criteria as a Psychiatric Nurse under s.464.012: who has a master's or doctoral degree in psychiatric nursing, holds a national advanced practice certification as a psychiatric mental health advanced practice nurse, and has 2 years of post-master's clinical experience under the supervision of a physician. Must be eligible to prescribe schedule 2/2b controlled substances to minors.

PREFERRED:

Previous experience providing outpatient psychiatry services to children and adolescents preferred Research experience preferred
