Apprentice Hvac Installer

As an Apprentice in HVAC Construction you will be performing all aspects of the duct installation process as well as assisting with Mechanical equipment installation.

Job functions and duties(other duties may be assigned)

Apprentice I-

General areas of performance:

Entry level duct installation

Duct elevation math

Set Finish

Entry level plan reading

Apprentice II-

General areas of performance:

Help Install Mechanical equipment

General duct fabrication (transitions & offsets)

Operate Forklift and lifts and obtain necessary certifications

Train level's below

Must show competency in:

Ability to read plans and do a take off

Familiarity with Scope of work and the contract

Identification when a change order or RFI is needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

May act as a coach and mentor for Laborer's.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

HVAC Installation experience in both new construction and retrofit projects required

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages, as well as draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Valid driver's license

The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
