The Apprentice
You will have many opportunities to work with and learn from experienced AMTs, who oversee inspecting, implementing, or overseeing maintenance and alterations of aircraft and aircraft systems.
Under their mentorship, you will develop key knowledge and skills that will help prepare you to become a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic.
DISCLAIMER: You must currently attend a partnered 147 Accredited school.
Summary of on-the-job training (not comprehensive of all tasks):

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
Must be enrolled in one of Delta's 147 A&P partnered schools.
Must successfully pass a class required Assessment.
Must be in last semester of completion for FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate program.
While in the apprenticeship program, continue to attend normal scheduled classes at the 147 A&P partnered school.
Must have successfully completed the General Knowledge exam and successfully completed either the Airframe or Powerplant Knowledge exam and working to complete the last portion.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to read and write English and comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
TIME AND ATTENDANCE
Work schedule will be maintained locally.
No more than 30 hours per week scheduled.
Apprenticeship will conclude no later than 6 months from start date.
