The Assessor-Recorder-Clerk is recruiting for Appraisers II who are responsible for appraising single residential, moderate sized multiple-unit residential, large commercial, industrial and multiple-unit residential property for tax assessment purposes. Appraisers II use complex valuation techniques such as the income, market and/or cost approach, and reconcile the various approaches to arrive at final value judgments.
Offices are located in Big Bear, Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks.

COMPETITIVE SALARY & BENEFITS
Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Step 14
3%Annual Across-the-Board Salary Increases in February 2025/2026
Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Proposition 172 Sales Tax Collections performance.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Certification: Must obtain a valid permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization within one year of employment.
Travel:Travel throughout the County is required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation.
At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. Mileage reimbursement is available. Offices are located in Big Bear, Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks.

Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED:
CERTIFICATE
Possession of a Permanent or Advanced Appraiser's Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience appraising single residential, moderate sized multiple-unit residential, ANDsmall commercial properties for tax assessment purposes in a California County Assessor's office.

Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate; aPermanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization;and three (3) years journey-level appraiser experience in a California County Assessor's office.
