We are seeking an Appointment Call Center Representative to:

  • Handle incoming phone calls from patients and their families to help them with their appointment scheduling needs

  • Make outgoing phone calls to patients to schedule them for appointments

  • Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure patients receive the appropriate care in a timely manner

Education:

Minimum

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or other related field

Work Experience:

Minimum

  • One (1) year of experience working in an office or customer service environment

Preferred

  • Past experience working in scheduling, registration, or a call center. Experience using Epic Cadence and Prelude software.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent, compassionate customer service

  • Ability to operate a computer

  • Efficient and accurate typing skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations preferred

  • Knowledge of third party payors and billing requirements preferred

  • Ability to think independently and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize and complete required tasks within established time schedules

  • Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate with a variety of personnel

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule: This posting represents all available Appointment Center Representative openings with UW Health. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

As an Environmental Services Technician you will: * Perform general housekeeping and custodial work within the University Hospital/American Family Children's Hospital/or clinics * Clean and disinfect facilities, using proper procedures and equipment * Aid in the prevention of diseases by sanitizing patient and public areas * Responsible for various trash removal duties * Follow hospital procedures to dispose of contaminated items * Replenish hand soap and paper towels in restrooms * Work independently under general supervisor Education: Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent education Work Experience: Preferred: At least six months of continuous employment with a single employer. Preferred: Previous cleaning and/or customer service experience. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Basic communication skills and working knowledge of the English language. * Ability to work independently or with a team with little direct supervision. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, short correspondence and memos. * Ability to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee and external customer satisfaction. * Effective organizational and planning abilities. * Willingness to use initiative and handle extra duties as needed. * Ability to multi-task and work at a rapid pace. Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Work Schedule: Full time, 40 hrs/wk, 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm or 5:00 pm – 1:30 am). Some positions may include every weekend or every other weekend. Multiple Openings: This posting represents multiple openings. Pay: The starting salary for this position is $15.00/hr with shift differential of $2.50/hr and/or weekend differential of $2.10/hr.
