Our Taneytown, MD Pump Manufacturing facility is over 150,000 square feet and provides capability for engineering, design, customer service, machining, assembly, and testing for a diverse product portfolio, which serves all markets (power ,oil & gas, water resources, general industry, and chemical). The facility has expanded four times since opening in 1971 to accommodate revenue growth and product line developments. The entire project lifecycle all under the same roof.
Role Summary:
This position will be part of the Engineering team here at Taneytown, MD. The primary function of this position to support product design, manufacture, assemble, test and packaging varieties of centrifugal pumps. The markets include water, power, chemical, oil and mining industries with a portfolio including pump types such as: vertical turbines, horizontal end suction, horizontal between bearing, solids handling, and submersibles driven by motors ranging from a few HP to 5000 + HP drivers.
Responsibilities:
Review customer specifications, create design drawings, customer and technical documentation from order acquisition to shipping
Collaboration with buy-out suppliers (motors, couplings, mechanical seals, seal systems, etc.) to complete quotation information
Work with CAD 3D tools to create design drawings and become proficient in product design and product support functions
Partner closely with an international group of team members as well as work autonomously at times to support the identified products
Interact and support teams including Order Acquisition, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing and after sales support teams
Provide logistic/technical and operational support for Taneytown operations. Provide superior technical and service level support to both internal and external customers
Provide technical reference and main point of contact for specific product line
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
Ability to successfully work in a team oriented and CIP environment
Demonstrated problem solving capability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven organizational skills including attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, even where conflicting priorities may exist
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
English language proficiency
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience in Product Design, Product development, Bills of Materials, Application Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing or relative experience
3-5 years prior experience with hydraulic pump testing, centrifugal pump design, systems design, or project engineering
Understanding of industry standards such as HI/ API/Nuclear/ASTM/ASME
Working knowledge of Solid Works /Draftsight/Windchill (OEPDMS/PLM)
Prior experience with structural, rotor dynamic analysis /Finite Element Analysis
