The Office of Sustainability and its staff are key agents in pursuing and guiding the effort to increase sustainability in operations, academics, and the culture of the campus. The Applied Learning and Engagement Manager provides expertise and leadership for a comprehensive Sustainability Office program that advances student learning outcomes for sustainability, prepares students for leadership roles and skills, manages student, staff, and faculty sustainability projects, and drives continual improvement and high quality service.

This position contributes to the Sustainability Office goal to enhance student leadership and engagement and to complement the Compass Curriculum Sustainability General Education requirement with applied learning opportunities. This involves developing student leadership and building practical skills from entry to advanced levels. The Sustainability Office strives to provide student employees, active volunteers and interested students with transferable leadership and sustainability skills.

Job Duties:

Applied learning program development:

  • Communicateopportunities for sustainability projects, experiential learning, research, andGAF funds, to faculty in all departments (include programs such as GatewayProgram Seminar, Compass Curriculum, Bachelor of Innovation and more).

  • Increase participation and seek diversity inproposers from all departments and different aspects of sustainabilityespecially projects that support Compass Curriculum goals of GlobalInclusiveness and Sustainability.

  • Collaborate with

Service Learning Internships and Community Engagement, SLICE, and Career Centerto develop skill building and professional opportunities for students.

  • Work with studentrecruitment to highlight opportunities for prospective students.

Green Action Fund program and project management:

  • Supervise and mentor student employees and GAFmembers to achieve a cohesive and effective organization, includingrecruitment, growth in fund applications, student leadership, as well as thepositive impact and sustainability of projects.

  • Maintain a streamlined process for accepting andsupporting projects: meeting with potential GAF proposers to set realisticexpectations, assist with proposal writing, make required connections to campusstakeholders, and ensure financial rules are met. Achieve continuousimprovement on the fund application process to ensure fairness, and responsibleand transparent use of student funds.

  • Review all evaluation rubrics for proposals andfeedback from GAF members on each proposal, score rubrics, and provide writtenaccount of feedback to review before GAF voting.

  • Assist with project management as needed andtrack progress of projects to ensure completion. Manage all financialaccounting for Green Action Fund and mentor student treasurer. Maintainaccurate records of projects and impacts.

  • Develop a maintenance program with studentinvolvement for completed projects.

Reporting and Measurement

  • Implement a system to measure success and impactof programs and projects. Contribute significantly to the UCCS STARS submissionand assessing goal achievement for the UCCS Sustainability Strategic Plan.

  • Track student involvement and work with StudentSuccess to measure retention and persistence.

  • Provide a yearly report of all GAF projects,academic projects, funds allocated, impacts, number of students involved, andrecommendations for improvements.

  • Maintain the GAF website to provide updates onprojects and encourage proposals.

Volunteer and Service Learning Internship Coordination

  • Manage program to support exceptional studentexperiences while providing value to the office. Work with SustainabilityOffice staff to determine yearly goals for the office and matching those goalswith prospective student internships, service learning, independent study, orvolunteer opportunities.

  • Grow the program including outreach to allcampus groups with required volunteer hours.

  • Work with faculty to support Independent Studyor capstone classes within the Sustainability Office. Oversee Professional Experienceoriented academic courses (GES)

Applied Sustainability Skills Programming

  • Assist in development and teaching of appliedskill building classes in sustainability leveraging the SustainabilityDemonstration House and UCCS Farm and Greenhouse.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office of Sustainability

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of sustainability methods andpractices and appropriate university, state and federal laws, regulations, andpolicies.

  • The ability to communicate effectively, bothorally and in writing.

  • Creative and positive approach to changemanagement; a key component of sustainability.

  • Ability to develop and deliver engagingstudent-focused sustainability curriculum that furthers students' practical skilllevels.

  • Strong leadership skills; including excellentanalytical skills; the ability to collaborate effectively with others, bothinternally and externally; and the ability to build and motivate asustainability team.

  • Effectiveness in working with individuals fromdiverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Familiarity and experience with participating inand managing volunteers.

  • Ability to design and implement assessment andmeasurement tools for programs.

For the purposes of FLSA,this position has been determined to be exempt

from (not eligible for) overtimeunder FLSA.

Salary: $43,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.

  • Two years' or more hands-on experience implementing environmental or sustainability programs.

  • Two years' or more supervisory experience.

  • Two years' or more experience working with students.

PreferredRequirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science and Engineering; Urban Planning, Geography or a related field.

  • Graduate degree in related field.

  • Four years' or more hands-on experience implementing environmental or sustainability programs.

  • Three years' or more project management experience.

  • LEED Credentials.

  • ISSP Credentials.

  • One year or more Website design experience.

  • One year or more marketing skills experience.

  • Two years' or more experience working in a sustainability office.

  • Two years' or more experience teaching in a higher education environment.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Client Engagement Associate will provide education and/or advice to T. Rowe Price's Core Personal Investors or Terminated Workplace Participants. The primary objectives of the Client Development Client Engagement Associate is to drive Net New flows, Retain assets, and/or Refer opportunities to Individual Investors or RPS. The Client Engagement Associate will establish relationships with Core Personal Investors or Workplace Participants in an effort to understand their broader investment planning needs, distribution options, and the potential for consolidation, resulting in high client satisfaction as well as retention of assets and relationships to the firm. Client Engagement Associates serving in this capacity require strong financial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple clients in different stages of the buying process. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Takes inbound calls from, or places outbound calls to, Core investors or Workplace Participants (lower dollar thresholds than Financial Consultants) through direct call routing, appointment scheduling, or referrals from other associates. Using our Consultative framework, the Client Engagement associate educates investors/participants so they can make informed decisions related to their financial plan or 401k all in an effort to move clients to action of consolidating additional monies at TRP or retaining their assets. List of specific tasks includes: * Leverage Consultative/Conversation framework consistently * Conduct one on one consultations with investors about their holistic financial plan * Demonstrate the ability to translate complex information and situations into a clear and simple message * Deliver advice using Investment Allocation Tool or ActivePlus Portfolios, or refer to Advice Delivery for Advisory Planning Services, * Demonstrate a high degree of financial acumen by using appropriate tools and consistently leveraging TRP's thought leadership to help investors meet their financial goals * Appropriately navigate Education vs. Advice options with investors/participants using a fair and balanced approach, and remaining compliant with all internal policies and procedures as well as external regulations * Knowledge and understanding of financial planning concepts related to each investor's financial plan * Serve as a single point of contact and assist investors/participants through challenging transitions or complex circumstances; is able to effectively drive investors/participants through decisions with education or advice * Demonstrate an understanding of competitor offers and technical expertise in all TRP products * Uncover opportunities for consolidation, retention, or add'l sales opportunities through skilled questioning and/or win business by effectively branding TRP solutions (outside assets, external referrals, etc…) * Diligently manages opportunities in an effort to nurture client relationships * Serves as a single point of contact and assists client through the buying process * Leverages a consistent follow-up process to move sales opportunities forward * Manages calendar and opportunities effectively and optimally to execute on results * Through the consultative framework, develops qualified referrals and opportunities for Financial Consultants or Advisory Planning Services to differentiate the client experience.
