APPLICATIONS & WEB PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER (Search Extended 10-28-22)

The Office of Information Technology Services at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the position: Applications & Web Programmer/Developer.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • serves as a contact and a team member for application and web-based services;
  • works with appropriate University and IT staff to create and maintain application and web-based services that are standards-based, highly functional, and well-integrated;
  • utilizes the University Content Management System effectively;
  • develops and designs standards for visual and interface design that ensures usability, accessibility, and coding efficiency consistent with current standards, regulations, laws, and trends;
  • employs usability testing to ensure that applications and web services meet the needs of target audiences;
  • coordinates work with other University web development partners, including the Office of Marketing and Communication, in efforts to ensure proper integration and website consistencies;
  • provides web CMS support and training to end-users to ensure website consistency;
  • participates as either leader or team member in a wide variety of projects to develop and improve routine procedures and web CMS use;
  • assists supervisor, Web Services unit, and other ITS units with improving operational procedures, processes, and standards as well as change management procedures in alignment and collaboration with ITS goals and objectives to advance the University mission;
  • manages and utilizes University/ITS/individual resources and time effectively to accomplish tasks and projects;
  • ensures and maintains information security and confidentiality;
  • provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the community at large; and
  • performs other duties as required.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology is required.

Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. A bachelor's degree in computer science or information science and two (2) years of professional application and web development experience is preferred.

Demonstrated experience in information and interface design, project management, server applications, and using and operating in a UNIX environment are all preferred. Experience with MS Office Sharepoint is a plus.

Web Developer (AM15/61122423/FTE-S00671P), full-time position with benefits. SC Pay Band 06.

Salary range: $43,030.00 (minimum) - $61,323.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexible work hours are required to include night and weekend hours. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Information security and confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science or information science. Two years of professional application and web development experience is preferred.

Demonstrated experience in information and interface design; and project management is preferred. Experience with server applications, and using and operating in a UNIX environment are preferred. Experience with MS Office SharePoint is a plus.

Required Licensure and/or Certification Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated proficiency in application and web development and information architecture using industry-standard tools and programming languages such as PHP, HTML, Java, Java Script, Visual Basic, and MySQL. Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, good project management skills, and the ability to work independently. Very strong skills in developing and programming with a high level of database integration.

Craig Wall Sr. <br><br> College of Business Administration seeks a dynamic and creative individual for the position of Director of Marketing and Communication. The purpose of the position is to develop and implement an integrated marketing and communication strategy that advances the Wall College's mission to internal and external audiences.
