The Application Systems Analyst supports and maintains current messaging infrastructure and related technology. The Applications Systems Analyst brings insight and uses industry best practices to provide 24/7 support to customers and other technical support groups interacting with both infrastructure and applications. This support impacts Tier 1 and 2 applications vital to the entire Institution.

Ideal candidates will have experience with: Microsoft servers and domain controllers, Active Directory, AD DS, Group Policy and LDAP, Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and experience with Azure SSO, AD Connect and provisioning resource groups in Azure.

Analytical Thinking

Provides process analysis, including functional requirements analysis and review, detailed design reviews, customer assessments and process workflows, application development, testing and support for enhancing existing applications. Applies this process to future proposed solutions.

Develops detailed professional reports including system documentation, test plans, and status reports which document issues, activities, plans and proposed solutions.

Strategic Thinking

Adheres to all technical IT development, configuration or process Standards mandated by both MDACC and Information Services or provides justification for deviation. Adheres to mandated federal and/or state health care standards and regulations or provides justification for deviation.

Provides weekly updates, attends all project meetings and communicates status of all tasks to the project lead.

Researches and recommends standards and procedures for Information Technology Services teams.

Technical/Functional Expertise

Provides Directory Services technical expertise. Develops, implements, enhances, and supports Active Directory, DNS, and other services needed for Unified Messaging.

Provides problem-solving expertise for ITS supported products.

Documents all required technical-related tasks and activities.

Provides 24/7 support through on-call rotations.

Demonstrates exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Respond to server outages, notifies the appropriate personnel, and creates appropriate post-outage documentation.


Performs testing and/or server maintenance tasks - independent of the technology or infrastructure - during approved maintenance windows as required to minimize customer impact.

Regularly monitors key infrastructure health parameters such as mail routing, server availability, backups, and virus notifications.

Provides Quality Assurance on all assigned projects and participates in application testing for other projects.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Project Manager with Manager's discretion.

Service Orientation

Maintains professional and cooperative relationships with potential affiliates and business partners. Interacts with a variety of executive-level health care and business professionals.

Interacts with customers, Help Desk personnel and other team members on assigned tasks. Provides periodic updates, attends all meetings (as allowed by policy) and communicates status of all tasks.

Communicates problems/issues that may arise in determining solutions.

Maintains effective communication with team members and management.

Experience Required:

Two years' experience in domain, project management, Epic software or workflow analysis. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred Experience:

Microsoft servers and domain controllers, Active Directory, AD DS, Group Policy and LDAP.

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.

Experience with Azure SSO, AD Connect and provisioning resource groups in Azure
