We currently have an opening for ApplicationsSystems Analyst I.

This position is Statutory Exempt from the provisions of the State Human Resources Act. Employment in this statutory exempt position is at will.

The primary responsibility of the Applications Systems Analyst Iis to provide technical and analytical work in developing, designing, and supporting State Automated Driver License System (SADLS) applications for the business, research, and instructional functions of clients.

Areas of responsibilities:

  • Partner with business systems analysts and business relationship managers to gather requirements and design applications systems within the standards established for the state.

  • Technical work with sophisticated applications and with management of system implementations.

  • Work as an entry level software developer and work with technical architects to define and design applications to meet the automation requirements of the State Automated Driver License System.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

The NC Department of Information Technology (DIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that DIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges, and universities.

The primary purpose of the State Automated Drivers License System (SADLS) is to provide technical direction and support for Department of Transportation (DOT), Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Driver License Section and Sections under Driver License Section supervision.

On-site work may be required.

As of June 1, 2023, the new salary range will be $65,604.00 - $98,407.00. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Applicants must meet both the Education Requirements and ALL Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) listed below in order to qualify. Qualified applicants must submit an application that CLEARLY REFLECTS work experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Demonstrated programming and analytical experience using CICS, COBOL, Easytrieve, Endevor, Expeditor and JCL in a mainframe environment.

  • Experience in DB2.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and apply an approved system development life cycle (SDLC) in developing technically complex applications.

  • Ability to perform technical reviews of completed projects.

  • Ability to handle On-call Production support.

Management Preferences:

  • Ability to apply a full range of analytical and programming techniques in the development of mainframe applications.

  • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of applications and relevant processes and procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution.

OR

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development.

OR

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
