Molex is seeking an Applications Support Engineer to join our team in Caldwell, ID, supporting FiberGuide & Polymicro products. The Applications Support Engineer (ASE) will report to the Associate Global Product Manager and will work closely with external customers/prospects and collaborate internally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments. This role will be the primary point of contact for customers to provide technical support, identify other products/applications that may benefit the customer and recognize new product opportunities. They will engage engineering/manufacturing to determine the viability of new product opportunities and assist in the request for quotation process. They will also serve as the liaison between customers and the company's quality department for any potential quality concerns.

The Applications Support Engineer is an in-house technical sales/support role with 5% travel to other Molex and/or customer locations. This role does not entail cold-calling and is not commission-based.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to a positive customer experience by responding to technical inquiries, requests for quotation and sales orders from both existing and potential customers

  • Serve as the point of contact for customers to correctly identify the appropriate products for their applications

  • Identify customer needs/specifications that could lead to the creation of new products

  • Effectively communicate customer specifications to engineering and manufacturing

  • Initiate and monitor the preparation of quotations, sales orders and return authorizations

  • Gather and share market/competitive intelligence with site leadership

  • Strive to achieve mutually beneficial "win-win" outcomes between Molex and customers

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline

  • One (1) year or more experience in a sales, sales support, or customer service role

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Sales experience in a technical manufacturing field

  • Experience working in a medical (ISO9001/ISO13485-certified) manufacturing facility

  • SAP experience
