Dallas ISD seeks Applications Software Developer working with Oracle R12 HR-Payroll and Financials modules, including Accounts Payable (AP), Purchasing (PO), Fixed Assets (FA), Inventory, Order Management (OM), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), Iprocurement, Isupplier, Cash Management, Treasury, using SQL, PLSQL, TOAD, Oracle Forms/Reports and Oracle OAF customization /extensions, Oracle XML/BI Publisher Reports and Bursting , Discoverer reports, Oracle Alerts, Data Loader, UNIX Shell Scripting. Specific duties include the following:

  • Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs

  • Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, and/or improve its performance

  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design

  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

  • Design Oracle BPEL/ESB SOA Architecture components and web services that will allow interfaces between Oracle R12 Payables/Fixed Assets and district vendors

  • Write computer programs in Oracle Applications environment. Determine how Oracle Apps system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes

  • Design and develop APEX applications which integrate with Oracle General Ledger and Oracle HR Payroll

  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

  • Design and customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency

  • Write custom mobile applications to integrate with Oracle Iexpense, Iprocurement, General Ledger modules

  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces

  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system

  • Analyze the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

  • Integrate third party vendor systems with Oracle Supplier Network for Purchase orders and invoices

  • Develop, design, and/or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions

  • Develop software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation

  • Develop testing routines and/or procedures

  • Develop performance metrics or standards related to information technology

Salary minimum: $103,968

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer Human Capital Management.

Location Dallas, TX General Summary The Senior Software Applications Engineer – Wireless IOT has the primary responsibility for supporting partners/customers who use Murata WLAN and/or Bluetooth modules. A key part of this responsibility is contributing (code development, integration, test, debug) to and maintaining Murata's baseline Linux/Android software solution on various reference platforms. Essential Job Responsibilities Software Development: * Architect/implement/maintain i.MX Yocto solution for Murata-customized WLAN/BT file system. * Port/integrate/test/optimize/debug Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers on embedded Linux and Android Operating Systems. * Replicate specific Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth failures and perform root cause analysis using various debugging tools: IDE, wireless sniffer, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc. Ideally implement/verify fix for given identified failures; otherwise collaborate with other Murata team members and/or partners to implement fixes. * Collaborate with Silicon Manufacturer Partners to implement/test/verify fixes on system issues affecting WLAN or Bluetooth functionality and/or performance (throughput and power consumption). * Develop/test/optimize embedded test tools for exercising Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth functionality including interoperability, specific corner case tests, and RF tests. Hardware Development Support: * Support Murata Hardware RF team in supporting customer/partner issues. Use software expertise to allow Hardware team to employ necessary tools to resolve any RF-related issues. * Collaborate with other Murata team members and/or Silicon Manufacturer partners on developing/debugging/testing/verifying RF test command sequences which qualify Murata Wi-Fi/BT module solution. Customer and Partner Support: * Support customers and/or partners remotely (from office) or on-site as needed to debug/test/fix specific Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth issues. Utilize skill set (already identified in Software Development section) to arrive at necessary issue resolution. * Visits customers to achieve design-ins and total customer satisfaction, as needed and upon request. * Visits with Murata Product Managers, Murata Japan visitors, and/or Sales Representatives, as required. * Plans, manages, assists and/or participates in customer road shows, as required. * Participates in industry tradeshows, as required. Documentation Support: * Develop new user documentation that offloads direct support for Murata Wi-Fi/Bluetooth solutions. * Maintain existing documentation for Wi-Fi/BT solutions: Linux/Android User Manuals, Quick Start Guides, RF test tool reference, etc. * Work proactively with customers and/or partners on their feedback to implement improvements to Murata documentation. * Collaborate with other Murata team members to leverage existing documentation in improving Murata Wi-Fi/BT documentation available from Team Connectivity team. Broad Market Support: * Answer technical questions from "Broad Market" customers on various support websites hosted by Murata and Silicon Manufacturer Partners. * Collaborate with other Murata team members in providing customer access to restricted support websites. * Provide debug support on specific issues raised on support forums. In some specific cases (i.e. when a problem may affect wider base of customers) drill down and resolve reported Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth errata. Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities * Prepares training material covering Linux/Android solution and presents to other teams within Murata, thereby transferring "knowledge base" and improving overall competency of different Murata teams. * Performs other job-related responsibilities and duties as may be assigned from time to time. Competencies Promotes Innovation & Change Customer Orientation Critical Thinking & Decision Making Results Orientation Functional/Technical Knowledge Teamwork Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. * 3+ years' experience developing device drivers on embedded Operating Systems. * 2+ years' experience developing device drivers on Linux and/or Android. * 2+ years' experience supporting wireless device drivers. * Working knowledge of at least two of the following hardware bus interfaces: PCIe, SDIO, PCM, I2S, I2C, USB and UART. * Working knowledge of at least two of the following (protocol) analyzers: oscilloscope, spectrum, logic, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, PCIe, SDIO, PCM, and UART. * Strong Windows PC proficiency including Internet, Microsoft Office Suite and debug tools. * Strong Linux PC proficiency using integrated code development environment (IDE) and debug tools. * Ability to demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal skills including effective collaboration and communication skills. * Well-developed facilitation skills to work among individuals from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. * Developed judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills. * Well-developed presentation skills. * Demonstrated time management skills to accomplish short- and long-term assignments. * Must possess typing skills to support documentation tasks. Preferred Qualifications * Working experience with NXP i.MX, and TI Sitara processors. * Working knowledge of an Embedded Linux build environment and associated toolsets such as Yocto, Buildroot, Git, repo, etc. * Specific knowledge of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (Classic and Low Energy), PCIe, SDIO, PCM, I2S, I2C, USB and UART specifications. * Working experience on debugging Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues. * Working experience using ARM microprocessors and implementing power-save solutions. * Working experience of wireless (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) regulatory testing; specifically, FCC and CE regulatory. * Experience debugging hardware/firmware/software system issues on embedded platforms. * Previous experience using Broadcom, Cypress, Qualcomm, TI, and Marvell Wi-Fi/Bluetooth solutions. * Customer-facing work experience.
