Position Information
Reporting to Associate Director of Financial systems, this position will be required to handle the support and maintenance of the existing financial applications as well as remediating / refactoring them for moving to the new data center. This effort will require extensive programming knowledge of Oracle SQL, PLSQL - based and web - based applications as well as web programming methodologies in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including version control. In doing so, this position will provide financial application on-call / as-needed technical support for both front-end and back-end applications.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to learn one's own as needed and collaborate with other team members and divisions within ITS, such as Networking, Systems and DBAs.
This is considered to be "critical position" for UCR Business and Financial Systems (e.g., UCRFS / PeopleSoft, PPS, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, etc.). This position is classified as remote and will work from home full-time with potential occasional visits to campus. Working hours will be based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). This is a contract position through December 31, 2023 with the possibility of becoming a career position should permanent funding become available.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Demonstrated broad problem solving skills.
Intermediate knowledge of secure software development.
Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.
Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
Thorough experience with common programming tools. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge / experience of Oracle PLSQL, SQL and web programming (CSS/HTML/JavaScript/JSON).
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of version control applications such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals.
Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis.
Experience with supporting financial - related applications, such as PeopleSoft accounts payable, receivable, purchasing, journaling, vouchering, etc.
Experience working in a higher education environment.
