Peraton is seeking skilled and innovative applications systems analysts programmers to support technical solutions associated with the collection, processing, and exploitation of assured, relevant, and timely oceanographic, meteorological, hydrographic, precise time and astrometric information for the Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC) and their subordinate commands. The successful candidate will be a skilled and innovative IT professional who will play an integral role in modernizing the IT infrastructure used to provide meteorology and oceanography support to warfighters afloat and ashore.
Creates, modifies, and tests code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run. Works on developing applications from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals. Writes, analyzes, reviews, and rewrites programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic. Conducts trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. Performs or directs revisions, repairs, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Writes, updates, and maintains computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment. Consults with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes. Performs systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer. May assist software developers by analyzing user needs and designing software solutions. May develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.
The successful candidate will perform and/or lead one or more of these functions:
IT Portfolio Management support, preferably in support of Navy METOC/GI&S. This should include use of DADMS application portfolio management system, compliance inspections, and identification of cybersecurity issues.
Digital Modernization efforts to meet specific net-centric and data-centric objectives.
Support for data strategy artifacts such as policy, governance and instructions, capabilities descriptions, metadata implementation specifications, product format specifications, and interface description specifications.
Oversight of data architecture engineering, data management support, solutions, and tracking efficiencies.
Data architecture innovation solutions to improve cost and efficiency in data architecture, services, modeling, and administration.
Evaluating technologies related to design, implementation, and maintenance of net-centric services and reporting on cost, schedule, and risk.
Oversight of geospatial database design, maintenance, and administration support.
Evaluation of managing compliance with metadate standards.
Working with Oracle, PostrgreSQL, and MySQL
Working with ESRI Spatial Database Engine (SDE)
Preferred experience in
Tasking, Collections, Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (TCPED) process
Battlespace on Demand (BonD) process
Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
FNMOC Come and Get It Product Services (CAGIPS) database
BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5

Colorado Salary Minimum: $76,000
Colorado Salary Maximum: $184,300
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
