Job Description Job Description Job Title: Applications Manager Department: Applications FLSA Status: Exempt Position reports to: Applications Director Position Summary (Purpose of job): This position will be responsible for managing the Applications/Pre-sales team activities and projects. This includes generating HVAC control programs, graphics, and points through Samsung HVAC controls and software. Troubleshoot issues and concerns with existing building automation system. Provide phone and on-site technical support to building owners, contractors, and engineers. Test new technologies and tools that could be integrated into the company's business offering. Assist the department manager in creating and developing new department processes and marketing materials. Create solutions and provide recommendations to client's building, energy, and system concerns by performing analytics for system & optimization utilizing site analytics software. Develop and maintain client relationships through face-to-face interactions. Perform product and service presentations to technicians, customers, and contractors. Work with the Technical Services team to create reports for clients as well as assisting with estimating new potential projects. In addition this position will also be responsible for providing technical, applications, pre-sales and quotation assistance to direct customers and the Sales Department by identifying and providing solutions for all technical issues during the sales process and working with the Technical Services Department, project managers, contractors, product marketing managers and construction engineers to provide cost estimates, coordinate with manufacturing personnel regarding time estimates, product modifications, testing of current products, design product improvements of existing products, recommend new products or modification of current products, and provide system troubleshooting support. Key Responsibilities % 1. Responsible for managing other pre-sales staff, drive the technical evaluation stage of the pre-sales process to others in the pre-sales application team. 50% 2. Establish a strategy for the pre-sales team to ensure the best possible support to external customers. 10% 3. Build strong working relationships with all other departments through application & product knowledge, communication and collaboration. 10% 4. Educates and trains customers pre-sales staff on application related matters to enhance the customer support and individual development 10% 5. Develops pre-sales/application approved processes for engineered products. 10% 6. Supports product-marketing content created by marketing and product for technical oversight. 10% 100% Minimum Job Qualifications: Education/Training – Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. 5-7 years of progressive HVAC Technical experience. Business Experience – Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of marketing campaigns Enthusiastic, performance-driven self-starter and team player Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks with different deadlines and customers. Possess a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and works well under pressure. Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Specialized Knowledge/Skills – Plus 2 years direct applicable HVAC experience. Past exposure to a product management role and/or writing HVAC product specifications is helpful. Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market. Working Conditions: Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) – Operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and view a video display terminal more than 90% of work time. Lift, move, or adjust general office equipment, boxes, or materials weighing up to 25 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures. Visual acuity, color distinction, and numeric and character detail distinction for the analysis and preparation of statistical reports and information Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) – Lift, move, or adjust general office equipment, boxes, or materials weighing up to 25 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures.
