Job Description:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into design requirements for telematics solutions

  • Work collaboratively with existing feature and component teams to ensure existing work stream deliverables are not impacted by new designs.

  • Work collaboratively with existing and future architecture elements (both on-vehicle and off) to deliver solutions that are extensible.

  • Manage the messaging for CAN related signals, Diagnostic requests, Modem to Service Delivery Network communications required to meet requested business requirements.

  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate the timing for requested changes to the business partners, cross-functional teams and the internal subsystems required to deliver new feature capabilities.

  • Ensure that the development of features are done using reliability and robustness disciplines.

  • Ensure the verification of the design to confirm its' meeting your requirements, and validate that the design meets the business requirements.

  • Matrix reporting relationship with business team.

  • Work closely with our client's Commercial Solutions product team to support telematics software development.

  • Focus on customer feedback to understand value opportunities to develop prioritization.

  • Develop agile / rapid prototype capability to support weekly software iteration.

Requirements:

  • 2+ Years Telematics Experience (systems, design or application) CAN Based Network experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Vehicle networking experience with an understanding of CAN messaging/signals as well as Electronic Module diagnostics capabilities to read DIDs/PIDs.

Education :

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics or similar

The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience: * Connected Vehicle Product and Platform (CVPP) organization develops cutting edge connected features and services * CVPP applications team is looking for highly motivated engineers who believe in disciplined approach to develop connected features and services that our customers would be excited to use * Responsible for connected vehicle feature deployment and vehicle program support for North America based programs * Interface with product/feature owners, system engineers, IT and mobile application teams to ensure proper execution of the features on vehicle programs * Have a good understanding of connectivity eco-system which includes vehicle, cloud and mobile app interface * Ensure that each feature works as defined within this eco-system and ensure that the feature meets both design intent and customer expectations * Verify that the feature is correctly defined for the program and individual trim levels, including any connected vehicle dependencies to ascertain connected vehicle product/feature success and compliance * Manage the product development process from concept to final verification sign-off, including oversight of verification status, and vehicle/breadboard/simulation based sign-off in support of vehicle milestones * Manage quality metrics, problem resolution tools, and validation results for the features * Ensure that all program deliverables are executed with high quality * Bachelors of Science or equivalent degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, software engineering or a related field * Three or more years of automotive experience as test/validation engineers, design engineers for electronic modules is preferred * Good understanding of CAN, Telematics, wireless technology, cloud services, mobile app development is a plus * Familiarity with quality tools * Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills are required * Two to three years minimum of experience Education Required: * Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science) BS or equivalent 18-01418 MSX International Dearborn MI
