Job Summary:
Applied Flow Technology (AFT), a Datacor company and world leader in fluid flow analysis applications, is seeking a technical and dynamic Applications Engineer to join our team and help us grow. Join us in shaping the next generation of flow analysis tools and push the boundaries of engineering simulation.
The Applications Engineer role sits on our STAC team which stands for Support, Training, Applications, and Content. You will be the primary interface with our users who are engineers in a variety of industries. Engineers use our software to simulate, analyze, and build fluid transfer systems and to answer complex engineering problems. Your primary responsibility will be resolving technical and functional issues these users run into with our software. The issues range from licensing challenges to model support to interpreting results. In this role, you will also help develop and maintain customer facing documentation, marketing materials, and training resources. You will also work closely with the development team on bug fixes, testing, and bringing the voice of the customer into the product development cycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with technical expertise looking for a generalist role with the opportunity to grow into a more specialized role over time.
Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service to customers who submit issues via phone and email.
Document customer issues and resolutions in Salesforce Service Cloud tool.
Write technical content for blogs, product documentation, training materials, and the AFT website.
Support the development team with QA testing during product release.
Develop and maintain help systems including examples and verification cases.
Create video tutorials and webinars.
Teach and support training seminars both in person and virtually.
Perform consulting work on Flow Expert Packages and through Purple Mountain Technology Group.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred)
Analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
Ability to proactively identify problems and propose solutions
Ability to work independently and within a team
Fast learner of technical software and an interest in understanding engineering fundamentals behind the software (what calculations are done and how results are produced)
Strong communication skills and a customer-centric attitude
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
High comfort with IT
Familiarity with Salesforce Service Cloud
Familiarity with MadCap Flare
This is a hybrid role. Applicants should be within commuting distance of the office located in Colorado Springs, CO.
