DXP | Alaska Pump and Supply, is a dynamic and growing company looking for an energetic and driven Applications Engineer to join our team, providing solutions to our customers pump and rotating equipment needs. Become a solutions provider for customers from all of Alaska's industries including Oil & Gas, Mining, Power, Municipal, Fishing, and Construction.

Responsibilities of the Application Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare technical equipment proposals, bids, and quotations

  • Interpret specifications and make appropriate equipment selections

  • Assist with customer troubleshooting and system design

  • Prepare technical documentation and submittal data packages

  • Work as part of the team to oversee projects during ordering, construction, and shipping process

  • Develop and maintain Quality Control methods

  • Maintain organized work environment and records

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. * Ensure that the technical competence of discipline staff supervised is matched to the work in hand * Maintain the required technical quality of work produced by discipline assigned staff * Ensure that the work output of discipline assigned staff complies with the relevant procedures * Provide technical assistance to discipline staff as required * Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule * Keep up-to-date with technical developments, state, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline * Assist in developing the knowledge and skills of the discipline assigned staff, including assisting in the training and technical development of engineers * Review work/work output of discipline assigned staff as required * Prepare estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules * Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilized in discipline activities * Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required * Providing documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and, or design books on time to meet project deadlines * Ensuring documentation is technically correct and all relevant engineering management system processes are applied to each scope * Producing cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe * Taking part and contributing to construction risk assessments and construction method statements (where required) * Responsible as a key member of any Project team for achieving the Project target and completion of the Project within the budget and schedule * Preparation of engineering scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates (where necessary) * Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required * Assist the Lead Discipline Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties Skills / Qualifications Minimum Experience: * Bachelor's degree * Alaska Professional Engineering Stamp * 8 years' engineering experience * 4 years' Onshore Project experience * 6 years' experience working in Petrochemical industry * Cold Environment engineering Job-Specific Skills: * Understanding of commercial and technical risk assessments * Good communication skills and people skills * Willingness to assist and research enquiries essential * Must be methodical and systematic * Motivate discipline teams * Maintain Customer Relationships * Good Commercial Awareness * A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards applicable to the design and engineering of piping for oil and gas processes * A good understanding of onshore engineering practice, as applied to piping design and layout * Relevant experience and understanding of the associated disciplines of metallurgy, equipment engineering, facilities systems and layouts Health & Safety Awareness: * Shall comply with all relevant procedures, guidance, etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with the Wood Safety Management System * Shall attend regular Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company which will help meet the above requirements Company Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
