Position Summary

The Application Engineers provide technical support for all Banner products. They collaborate with the outside sales teams to create custom solutions for our customers. Be a part of a cohesive team of experts striving to strengthen our relationships with our customers.

This position reports to the Applications Engineering Supervisor.

According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

  • Exempt, based on the Professional Exemption

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing technical consultation and product support service to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers.

  • Managing multiple priorities including incoming phone calls, emails, chats and responding to direct sales team member communications.

  • Collaborating with Engineering staff to develop technical modifications to existing products to meet unique application requirements.

  • Conducting in house tests to solve real-life customer applications.

  • Assisting with product training for internal and external audiences, both in-person and remotely.

  • Supporting the sales regions with tasks such as vetting and processing, product returns with technical issues (RMA) requests, price, and availability.

  • Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to input and maintain complete, accurate, and timely entries of technical summaries, customer information, and sales opportunities for all cases worked.

  • Providing timely follow-up as needed to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers.

  • Serving as production application expert for sales and interdisciplinary projects

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Business.

  • One year of more of experience in an application engineering and/or application sales position

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to travel domestically to attend trade shows or visit customer locations as needed.

  • Strong desire to understand how things work.

Preferred

  • 1-4 years of experience in a related field.

  • Experience working within an industrial automation environment.

  • Customer service experience a plus
