Applications Developer Senior

Job Summary:

The Senior Application Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications within the Department of State on multiple applications. This position requires a minimum of extensive experience working with ASP.NET applications. This position will be responsible for developing best-in-class technical solutions for various Business Units and identifying and resolving any application issues.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Create, design, develop, and maintain applications. Regularly meet with stakeholders and project team members to identify technical requirements and resolve system issues.

Perform ongoing maintenance work, including ticket resolution within the SLA requirements, as well as periodically upgrading systems. Perform root cause analysis and system remediation on issues for multiple applications.

Perform proactive identification of code issues and work towards improving the overall quality of code and minimizing technical debt. Assist in implementing best-in-class technology and processes to support the overall architecture. Assist in achieving a sustainable and optimal application ecosystem.

Create technical documentation including but not limited to system design documentation, functional and technical specifications, requirements documentation, user stories, and test cases as needed.

Meet with business and technology stakeholders periodically and cross-functional teams to identify functional and technical requirements and drive collaboration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

Expert-level knowledge in fixing and developing changes to applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices, development standards, and guidelines.

Experience working on analyzing, debugging, and resolving defects in applications.

Creates deliverables according to the Software

Development Lifecycle, which includes functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation.

Skills:

Net applications.

Through working knowledge of multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, and systems integrations.

Provide superior level of customer service and responds promptly to customer needs.

Abilities:

The ability to solve complex problems and create technical solutions.

The ability to balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.

The ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.

Works independently and leads initiatives to solve technical issues and suggest innovative solutions.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelor's degree in a technical field or five years of experience in developing
