And what will you do?

Summary:

The application architect uses a high level of technical expertise combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills, and teamwork, to develop specific applications for the purpose of increasing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the company. As well as ensuring systems, applications, and solutions meet required functionality, performance, scalability, security, and other quality attributes.

Core Functions:

  • Design major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware, infrastructure, and database.

  • Provide technical leadership to the applications development team

  • Perform design and code reviews prior to "go live"

  • Ensure uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure architecture is aligned with business requirements

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance programs and/or systems assigned

  • Follow department's software development lifecycle process to ensure controls are in place for scoping, development, testing, and deployment.

Education & Experience:

Minimum Required:

  • Five to eight years of programming experience

  • Highly proficient in programming languages (.NET, SQL, C#, etc)

  • Experience in aligning application development with business needs

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Combinations of experience, knowledge, skill and/or proven results that are equivalent to the qualifications outlined above will be considered.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science

  • Minimum 4 years of front-end development (Javascript, HTML, etc)

  • Prior experience with ERP software

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Work is performed in an office environment. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment to perform the core functions listed in this job description. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies as well as communicate verbally and electronically. The work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive reading to perform the core functions listed in this job description.

Travel

1-2 weeks a year.
