Uses SQL Server database architecture knowledge to provide database expertise in the implementation, integration, and support of multi-tiered applications

Handles all day to day management of the firm rsquo;s document management system (iManage) and related systems, including ethical wall systems, matter-centric architecture, and data import tools

SharePoint Administration and Site Management for the Firm rsquo;s Intranet Site

Uses Microsoft SCCM for image management, software packaging, and patching

Creates, Administers, and Troubleshoots Active Directory Group Policies

Tracks and optimizes system performance and storage utilization

Plans for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support the systems

Responsible for application testing, support, and version control of Firm applications

Collaborate with Application team and practice groups to develop relevant portal environments and provide increased value through our current application portfolio

Works with the infrastructure team to oversee the operation of servers and storage dedicated to the systems described above, including hardware and software installation, upgrades, service packs, and patches, system monitoring and job scheduling

Skillfully adapt and become knowledgeable at new applications deployed and maintained by the Firm

Propose and implement system enhancements or new technologies that will improve the performance and reliability of the system

Uses a variety of tools and techniques to isolate/diagnose application issues

Provides support as needed for the development, test, and conversion of environments

Assists in release planning

Job Requirements

BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience

Previous experience with matter-centric computing within a legal environment preferred

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL server required

Experience with iManage Filesite

Understanding of SharePoint Site Management and Administration functions (SharePoint 2013/2016)

Experience with Microsoft SCCM required

Knowledge of financial software like Aderant a plus

Excellent time management skills and communication skills

Commitment to cooperative team approach

Additional Details ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS BACKGROUND The Sr. Applications Support Developer / Analyst (SASDA) position is a part of the School of Medicine's Office for Information Technology Services' Curricular Support team (SOMITS-CS) and provides technical support and consulting to the Emory Center for Experiential Learning (ExCEL) in support of the School of Medicine's curriculum. The SASDA's position supports a spectrum of interdependent IT, AV, and robotics technologies incorporated into the medical simulation-based education environments provided by ExCEL's Clinical Skills Center (CSC) and Simulation Center (SIM). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides technical support for CAE Healthcare's LearningSpace (LS) application, which encompasses: * Administration of LS' application/video capture server decks, RAID video storage, and backup power/alert system hardware. * Coordination of archiving/deletion of video records with ExCEL in accordance with the SOM's records retention policy. * Coordination of basic and complex technical support needs with CAE's remote application support team in Hungary. * Provides desktop support and creates/deploys/updates specialized system images for: * PCs located in the CSC used in conjunction with LS-related live event control, public announcements, and data entry. * PCs located in SIM used in conjunction with LS, HealthStream testing, and high-fidelity medical simulator control. * ExCEL loaner laptops. * Provides AV support for systems associated with LS including: * HD IP cameras. * Digital video encoding systems. * Mics/audio encoding systems. * AV system VLAN. * PA systems for live simulated event announcements. * Provides technical support and consulting pertaining to ExCEL's portfolio of hi-fi/lo-fi medical simulators and robotics technologies including: * Gaumard's Hal, Hal 5 y/o, and neonatal simulators. * Gaumard's Noelle birthing simulator. * Harvey cardiopulmonary simulators. * Resusci Anne and infant ACLS/BLS skills-testing simulators. * Virtual laparoscopic and surgery simulators. * Curriculum-related lo-fi simulators. * Healthstream-based BLS/ACLS testing systems. * Maintains technology inventory and provides support & consulting relating to: * Ancillary technologies (e.g., VOIP/smartphones, ventriloscopes, etc.). * Technology refreshes and budgeting cycles. * Provides periodic technical cross-training on ExCEL-related technologies to SOMITS-CS team members. * Cross-trains on Curricular Support-related applications & technologies and provides backup technical support for SOMITS-CS team members on a periodic basis. * Builds and maintains relationships with vendors providing products and services germane to ExCEL's simulation-based education systems. * Must be comfortable with: * Being on call and on site during normal business hours to address immediate technical support needs adversely impacting live simulation-based educational events. * Addressing technical support needs that may require the use of ladders, etc. to access systems located in drop-ceilings above supported areas. * Providing occasional backup technical support in an academic cadaver lab and being familiar with associated safety protocols. * Occasionally providing technical support on evenings and weekends. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Ideal candidate possesses a passion for education and technology with a focus on how simulation technology can serve the SOM's curriculum and enhance pedagogy as well as students' academic experience and success. * Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Able to successfully manage complex technical issues and successfully design, coordinate, and implement interim and/or permanent technical solutions that minimize disruptions to live simulated events. * Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to successfully build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and students are essential. A background in teaching and/or providing technical training is helpful. * Ability to build and maintain relationships with simulation-focused professional organizations providing theory and best practices germane to ExCEL's simulation-based education systems is ideal. * Preferred qualifications include: * Medical simulation-focused center management application experience (e.g., LearningSpace, B-Line, etc.). Experience with LearningSpace strongly preferred. * Experience with supporting and/or operating hi-fi/lo-fi medical simulation technology. * Experience with supporting and/or operating live medical simulation-based events. * A blend of desktop, server, programming, digital media production/post-production, and/or AV support experience. * Preferred certifications include: * CHSOS, CHSE or CHSE-A certification from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). * CTS, CTS-D or CTS-I credentials from Avixa. * BLS or ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
