The Application Analyst will contribute to the success of Digital through the management MGH Digital centric initiatives that assist them in making their days more efficient so they can spend more time delivering patient care. This position helps run and support the Digital applications requested by this group. With increasing physician burden, this role is essential in making sure we are looking at innovative ways to continue supporting our clinical staff.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in reducing administrative burden for MGH/MGPO clinical staff

  • Assist in researching emerging technologies. Evaluate business needs for end users and assist in developing recommendations for technical solutions in accordance with MGB Digital platform standards.

  • Assists, when necessary, in the evaluation of vendor proposals to determine if a vendor solution meets the business need(s

  • Present potential solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Prepare written materials for use in presentations, meeting and final project documentation.

  • Serve as an advocate for MGH/MGPO end users and provide consulting services for the MGH/MGPO and remote sites in the process of network, server, application/ desktop integration, upgrades, and problem solving.

  • Participate in departmental and enterprise-wide projects with an emphasis on new technology integration with the Partners environment.

  • Participate in the research process whereby new ideas are generated and projects are executed that point the direction for the future value and benefits of health information technology.

  • Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of MGB Digital. On-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers/peers is essential.

  • Function both as an individual contributor and team player within MGB Digital and the hospital community at large.

  • Installing/troubleshoot non-production software on various platforms

  • Travel to various MGH locations to assist with physician troubleshooting/ Act as a liaison for MGH/MGPO physicians that have escalated or ongoing IS issues

  • Tracking of work performed in ticketing system (ServiceNow)

  • Create/maintain reports as needed to identify trends and track progress of various projects

  • Work with and assign tasks to MGPO technicians

  • Software testing of new releases

  • Create training material and/or knowledge base articles for a wide audience

  • Work with many teams such as security, device management, technicians, project managers, trainers, etc.

  • Act as an on call resource for Digital Applications

  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by MGB Digital Management

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • 3 years related experience required. Preferably in computer systems and/or healthcare with software/hardware support in a networked computer environment.

  • Experience participating in departmental and enterprise-wide projects with an emphasis on workflow analysis, problem solving, and new technology integration within a large, multi-site environment.

  • Must have reasonable working knowledge of networking (wired and wireless), server, mobile device, and desktop concepts and protocols.
