Applications Analyst

The Applications Analyst role serves as our primary source for expertise in their assigned solutions and aids our Caregivers in maximizing their technology investments. This position will be involved in the application life cycle from selection through enhancement and ongoing maintenance. In this role you will have the opportunity to address unique challenges in your applications and extend our technology further through tools such as Microsoft SQL Server. Ideally, this individual will bring experience with SQL queries and reporting. There will be opportunities to expand into .NET development through this role as our growing interfaces and APIs increase.

Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of IT application, infrastructure, and security requirements.

  • Ability to manage complex projects/issues effectively.

  • Effective problem solving, organization and communication skills, influencing a wide range of audiences.

  • Application solution design, development and delivery skills.

  • Efficient in planning, system analysis, design, application building, testing, maintenance, and support.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including conducting/leading customer meetings, conducting presentations, and advising support and implementation team on technical issues.

  • Assist in planning production roll-out and deployment related activities.

  • Create and maintain documentation and standards.

  • Create and maintain thorough and complete technical documentation of all supported solutions.

  • Work with technical and business partners to support development/processing.

  • Collaborate with technical team and operational partners (Business Analysts, testers, developers, and administrators).

  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor other employees.

  • Ability to work in a team environment consisting of technical and non-technical members.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a strong focus on customer service and solution ownership.

Education+ Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree or 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Proven track record of successful implementation of all project life cycle stages from requirements gathering through implementation and enhancements.

  • Experience with advanced SQL Queries

  • Experience with SQL Server SSIS and SSRS packages preferred.

The hours will be M-F approximately 8a-4:30p with some on-call rotation as needed. This will be a remote position and will be part of the Lab Information Services department within the Anatomic Pathology and Outreach Solutions team!</p><p>The successful candidate will participate in leading, validating and supporting interface and other project implementations. Candidate will also aid in run the business applications support. Candidate must have experience with EMR-EMR or EMR-LIS interface experience and be very familiar with HL7 messaging.</p><p>Team is responsible for CoPath, ClockwiseMD, Cerner Outreach Operations, Lifepoint and EMR-LIS or LIS-LIS interfaces. Time will be approximately 75% project and 25% support. <br><br> Strong computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience with Microsoft's suite of applications is required.</p><p>Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.</p><ul><li><p>3-5 years of HL7/interface implementation experience required.</p></li><li><p>Prefers experience with databases or clinical applications.</p></li><li><p>Requires knowledge of multi-application and system interdependencies</p></li></ul><p>Safeguarding our patients and each other is an important part of how we deliver the best care possible to the communities we serve.
