BrightView is currently seeking an Applications Analyst to join its team. Every day, the IT team builds and supports mission-critical technology solutions that make our field and corporate teams more efficient, while providing our leaders with business intelligence insights to help make more informed decisions. As owner to a range of those technology solutions the Application Analyst becomes an integral part of support and expertise offered to our business leaders. The Application Analyst will collaborate with Business Stakeholders, IT Leaders, Business Analysts, Senior Software Developers, Help Desk staff and Suppliers to achieve strategic business and IT goals and standards.

This position will be fulfilled as a full time employment opportunity located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

How You Will Make an Impact

Application Maintenance & Support

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues. Recommend appropriate solution design, configuration or corrective action. Work with Business Analysts, Development staff and technology vendors to bring issues to resolution.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to help ensure business efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Fulfill data and ad-hoc reporting requests by defining and/or creating ad-hoc reports and data sets for business stakeholders to support special projects and analysis needs

  • Document user and business requirements and identify modifications to existing applications required to meet changing needs.

Application Development

  • Assist Business Analysts and project stakeholders with prioritizing application requirements and creating conceptual prototypes and mock-ups.

  • Obtain or create estimates of development effort for planned and scheduled application development projects and enhancements.

  • Define and/or assist in creating queries, stored procedures, program(s) and/or data structures that enable required application functionality.

  • Schedule and track the status of assigned projects, enhancements, and defect repairs through the development lifecycle.

Application Design

  • Assist in creating system design and functional specifications for application development and enhancement projects

  • Assist in identifying data sources and structures that support application solutions

Application Testing

  • Test solutions to ensure they meet requirements and are error free, and then assist business users in doing the same.

Change Management

  • Follow documented IT change management procedures (testing, documentation, approvals, etc.)

Requirements

  • Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities

  • Strong Technical Aptitude Ability to interface with multiple technology teams and translate business requirements into technical specifications

  • Knowledge of relational database design concepts and SQL

  • Some experience in programming and web development concepts are required. Areas of highest value are HTML, Javascript, CSS, C#, SQL, Angular, PowerBI, Azure Analysis Services & DAX Queries.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on technical experience

  • Strong capability to perform self-inspection and unit testing within the developed solution and define functional testing standards

  • Requirements Elicitation, Analysis and Documentation Skills

  • Strong Customer Service Skills

  • Excellent Communication Skills (oral, written, and facilitation)
