Application Support & Technical Engineer - This is a Contract to Full-time position.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

The Application Integration and Technical Support role is responsible for the functionality and support of our Workers Compensation systems. Their responsibilities include:

  • Assisting employees, agents, MGAs, and policyholders with web applications
  • Troubleshooting technical errors with developers and customers
  • Researching software vendor reference materials, configuring applications, integrating with other insurance computer systems, and documenting data feeds
  • Monitoring applications to ensure they are functioning as expected and communicating issues to business stakeholders and vendors when applicable
  • Customizing applications, including configuration changes done on-site as well as custom code changes performed by vendors
  • Performing and coordinating changes to business application rules from the testing phase to release in production
  • Communicating scheduled systems changes and notifying stakeholders
  • Researching the amount of effort, risk, and cost associated with requested changes and communicating findings to business stakeholders
  • Converting manual processes to automated tasks

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

An ideal candidate has previous experience in customer service and technical support.

Ideal Candidate Skills

An ideal candidate has good general knowledge of computers and technology. They have an intermediate understanding of how to install, configure, and troubleshoot systems, and how web applications, databases, and networks function.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar)
  • 3 - 5 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and be self-directed
  • Self-motivated and sense of ownership
  • Functions well in a team or individually
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours
  • Ability to communicate technical issues/solutions to a non-technical audience
