As an Application Support Specialist, you will provide application support services for commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS), custom-built and middleware applications for the Department of Transportation, Office of Land Management (OLM). This position will communicate, coordinate, deliver and/or resolve simple to complex application support service tasks to ensure MnDOT applications are supported per the applications service level agreement, support model, and to the satisfaction of the MnDOT business partner. This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of application development and support experience in current technologies, like C++, VB.NET or C#.NET, PL/SQL, API/Interfaces.
Experience must include the following:
Configuration and support experience using Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) applications
Working directly with multiple IT services (apps, data, infrastructure, service desk, etc.)
Working directly with customers to analyze needs, present options, troubleshoot issues and deliver solutions
A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field may substitute for two years of experience, or related Associate's degree may substitute for one year.
Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification

Ability to learn basic Aspose Forms and/or Crystal Reports in 6 months
Broad knowledge of computer and peripheral equipment operation and capabilities
Configuration and support experience using Software as a Service (SaaS) applications
Strong leadership skills. Must be able to work with both a highly technical staff as well as administrative staff
Ability to keep activities focused on and directed at their contributions to strategic and business objectives and to cross functional goals
Median level business acumen and intimate knowledge of all OLM Real Estate-Land Management Programs and disciplines including but not limited to; Direct Purchase, Appraisal, Construction, Demolition, Relocation, Leases, Eminent Domain, Conveyance & Turnbacks, Contracts, Closing, Survey, Mapping, Platting, Virtual Reference Stations, LIS, Photogrammetrics, Geodetics, and Utilities & Permits
Strong skills in self-motivation, servant leadership, being a team player, developing rapport, networking, resolving conflict and negotiating diplomatically with others
Ability to learn future technologies
