Application Support Engineer
Direct client (Banking Industry)
Location : Ashburn, VA
Contract: 2 Years +
Bill Rate : Best in the market
1.Provide an expert level support and administration of the C2P OPF platform and application modules customized and integrated for application implementation to ensure business goals and objectives are consistently met. 2. Provide 24X7 support and coverage 3. Expertise will be proactively developed and enhanced over the life of the contract to ensure AMS team has expert level knowledge of the Open Payments Framework / customizations for clients payment program implementation 4. Responsible for co-ordination with stakeholders for day to day middleware operations 5. Serve as technical expert and systems administration lead in liaising with key business stakeholders, vendors and technical project teams 6. Develop and Lead automation initiatives using UFT (experience in Selenium will be an advantage) 7. Monitor SLAs and lead the team to improve the SLA performance 8. Mentor the team, set standards and best practices and establish maintenance processes 9. Participate in governance and roadmap planning of the project 10. Responsible for day-to-day operation and application incidents/events Ensure proactive monitoring of overall system performance 11. Coordinate with 3rd party vendor for middleware server replacement in case of hardware failures or capacity upgrades 12. Ensure compliance with security and other audit policies in a regulated environment 13. Implement planned application maintenance releases and patches 14. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies and ensure compliance with security and other audit policies 15. Provide troubleshooting / issue resolution at Tier 2 and above and escalation liaison and resolution with 3rd party vendor and service support (raising PMR with IBM). 16. Troubleshooting day to day issues related to business / middleware applications

Job Responsibilities: * Support our largest Enterprise clients, ensuring their complex infrastructures stay up and running 24/7 while working with bleeding-edge technology * Define, Design, Implement, and Support complex network communications infrastructures * Install, Configure, Update, Support, and Troubleshoot services for customers such as: * LAMP Stack: Linux (RedHat), Apache, MySQL, PHP * Virtualization - VMWare * Storage Technology: SAN, NAS, DAS, NetApp * Scripting: Perl, Shell, Bash, PHP, etc. * OS level concerns * Web Servers * Database Servers (MySQL) * Applications Servers * Mail (Mail Transfer Agents) * Clustering * Load Balancing * Clustering * High Availability * Security * FTP * SSH * DNS * Teach customers "how to fish" by advising on technical issues; this includes designing and implementing solutions to meet business needs, including advanced software and hardware updates, that will improve the performance and reliability of the system Required Qualifications: * Thorough knowledge and love of Linux operating system (RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.). As a true Linux lover knows—Fatal Error: Found MS-Windows System -> Repartitioning Disk for Linux * Advanced/Expert knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software, DNS, and networking fundamentals (Cisco) including diagnostics with Linux tools * Strong experience with LAMP: Linux (RedHat), Apache, MySQL, and PHP * Strong experience with Storage Technology such as NFS Server, RAID Levels, SAN, NAS, DAS, NetApp, etc. * Experience Architecting and Designing complex enterprise level infrastructures * Requires approximately 5+ years working in a computer technical field, 3+ years in an enterprise server environment and 2+ years in web hosting environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences * Inherent problem-solver with desire to learn and take on responsibilities * Due to the 24x7 operations of the business, Engineers will be required to provide on-call coverage overnight and on weekends and holidays Nice-To-Have Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience * Technical certification including Linux+, RHCSA, RHCA, and RHCE strongly preferred Rackspace Ashburn VA
