SIG is currently looking for an Application Support Analyst to work on our Proprietary Trading Services team. You will be joining a group focusing on the support and technical operations of our core trading systems. This team is responsible for all aspects of server side application support: job scheduling, troubleshooting issues, intraday restarts, tactical response to production issues, deploying change and working directly with our developer and engineering teams.

In this role you will

  • Provide daily support of proprietary trading systems that our crucial to our business

  • Coordinate, implement and support daily system level changes, in a Windows and Linux environment

  • Troubleshoot trading related issues by investigating client/server log files

  • Perform server side application support, job scheduling, and basic scripting

  • Coordinate technical resources and communicate to both business and technology communities during production issues

What we're looking for

  • 1-3 years of experience in an application support , operations, systems administration, or related role required

  • Ability to independently identify problems and develop solutions required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • An understanding of operating systems (Windows and/or Linux) is required

  • Foundational knowledge of Powershell, Python, or Bash scripting

  • Previous experience within a financial services or trading environment is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred

VIEW JOBS 1/7/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-06T00:00 Overview As Application Support Analyst you will join the existing Options Support team and provide technical and functional support for all trading, operational and support systems in the Dublin office. This is a fast paced environment which requires you to display good technical systems and application knowledge in making critical support decisions while working under pressure. The role will also require you to manage complex project work for new or existing support systems, monitoring systems, support tools and/or deployment of new software trading systems. All members of the team participate in early morning and out of hours support schedules. In this role you will: * Systems and Application Support - working closely with the software development teams and trading desks to provide essential primary support for all trading, operational and market data systems * Systems and Application Maintenance – managing the deployment process to ensure successful deployment of new system/software and upgrades for all trading and operational systems * System Monitoring – monitoring of trading systems and alerts through existing monitoring systems, constant re-evaluation of current systems to establish scope for improvement/growth, development of required tools and/or implementation of agreed 3rd party systems to ensure 100% uptime in our trading environment during exchange open hours * Batch Environment – maintenance through monitoring and development of our batch scheduler to ensure successful completion of batch jobs required for trading – includes batch jobs run during core trading hours and batch jobs run out-of-trading hours * Continuous evaluation and improvement of trading support procedures, development and implementation of required/agreed tools and associated runtime environments * Interact with various internal IT support functions to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems as they happen. What we're looking for * Experience working in a fast paced exciting work environment * Minimum of 2-3 years providing application support for a wide range of different complex applications. * Strong knowledge of networked Application Systems to include exposure to database environment, Windows (2008. 2012) and Linux servers * Excellent IT analytical/troubleshooting skills to include extensive experience tracing problems through analysing log files, following application/systems logic (e.g. routing paths) * SQL skills (understanding of joins, sub queries, functions, stored procedures, optimization. * Experience working with and supporting a batch scheduling system * Experience with complex and structured software deployments * Some knowledge of scripting (Python, PowerShell) would be advantageous * Trading systems support an advantage * Experience of VM Ware an advantage * Experience in Citrix an advantage * Experience with vendor systems * Graduate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience. * Financial trade floor experience is a plus but not essential, training will be provided Personal Skills * Smart and enthusiastic * Initiative – proven record of seeking continuous improvement and implementing best practice in technology environment * Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines * Self-motivated and creative * Strong communication (verbal and written) – ability to convey technically complex subjects in a clear and concise manner * Attention to detail – thorough in work carried out * Interpersonal – friendly and approachable * Teamwork – working together to meet deadlines * Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills * Desire to learn and improve skills and knowledge Susquehanna International Group, LLP Bala Cynwyd PA
