Job Description:
The application support analyst will be responsible for maintaining web and desktop applications, SQL administration, and BI reporting.

  • Provide comprehensive front-line support of applications ensuring best practice is applied to system support, upgrades, testing, and procedures.

  • Diagnose and resolve day-to-day live system issues in custom application code, custom interfaces, database data and code.

  • Application database management, software installation/patch management, data import/export and system integration, custom report creation and support and general system administration.

Experience Requirements

  • Candidate must have good business acumen to assist in project initiatives involving developing and building new requirements as needed

  • Must be able to develop web applications and know how to program in a C base language (preference C#)

  • SQL service experience to assist in creating databases, maintaining tables, or writing stored procedures and must be able to select, modify, update, or delete

  • Development skills with any of the following: C#, WinForms, WPF, XML, JavaScript

  • Advanced Excel

  • Experience with Salesforce or APIs nice to have

  • Ability to work with minimal direction on multiple tasks

  • Candidates have typically obtained a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • Strong critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions skills

The Application Support Analyst within the Custody and Securities Processing Production Management (PM) team is responsible for technical support of production application and Infrastructure. The team handles all support requests, incidents, issues, tickets and business continuity activities, to ensure flawless and quality delivery of services to end users. This is a critical role requiring a highly dedicated individual who can take ownership and provide procedural and technical support to various teams and internal/external stakeholders. The team is responsible for managing the Custody, Asset Servicing, and Securities Processing platforms. These platforms process trade confirmation and settlements, manage and service corporate actions, and interface with accounting and general ledger systems. In addition to driving resolution of day to day issues, and major incidents and outages to resolutions, the Application Support Analyst will work hand-in-hand with application development, infrastructure and implementation teams. The PM team member will be responsible for implementing Best Practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains, and ensure risk and controls compliance for the supported platforms. This role is in a 24/7/365 highly available, on-call environment, and as such, is in a high-pressure environment and demands a dynamic individual with excellent communication, strong analytical skills, acumen and the ability to assimilate information quickly, with focus on incident and problem management. General Tasks & Responsibilities: * Manage day to day issues including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with end users, development staff and Infrastructure teams, to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate outages. * Monitor production activities/processes to ensure timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems to internal and external clients, technical resources, and executives. * Implement continuous process improvement, including but not limited to , policy, procedures, and production monitoring. * Help in identifying, coordinating, and implementing initiatives/projects and activities that create efficiencies and optimize technical processing * Develop and maintain relationships with technical staff, end users and clients. * Carefully evaluate alternative risks and solutions before taking action to provide timely resolution. * Demonstrate creativity, innovation and high performance. Required Experience: * 5+ years of hands-on experience in Operations/Production support. * 1-3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis/ SQL. * 3-5 years experience managing UNIX/Linux environment. * 1-3 years experience in UNIX shell, Perl scripting. * Knowledge of XML, SWIFT and FIX protocol is a plus. * Experience working with scheduling tools like Autosys/Control-M is a plus. * Strong analytical & trouble shooting skills required. * Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and test execution. * Exhibits problem solving skills and shows flexibility in supporting evolution in process, standards, and strategy. * Experience working in financial services industry supporting mission critical applications is a big plus.
