Lewan Technology, A Xerox Company, is seeking a customer support professional to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

As a Lewan Application Specialist, you will work with our print monitoring team to collect device meter readings, remotely install eMetering software, troubleshoot application installations, audit and analyze account information, and much more. The Application Specialist will need to work with technicians, engineers and non-technical personnel to resolve operating system, security and network issues. Significant time will be spent contacting customers or scheduling appointments via phone or email for installing or troubleshooting software applications. Occasional visits to customer sites to perform onsite verification may be required. This position requires the ability to work with a team and on your own as well as be self-motivated and reliable. This is an entry-level position.

  • Proven customer service skills with heavy outbound customer call experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and move from task to task quickly.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a variety of personality types.

  • Highly self-motivated and reliable work ethic.

  • Must be flexible to customer needs and demands.

  • Entry-level sales, service (or other customer-facing experience) preferred and recommended.

  • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines for small daily projects, and large seasonal projects.

Examples of Work Performed: During theinitial training period for this role, the following tasks are performed underdirect supervision and detailed instruction and guidance is received. * The Help Desk ITProfessional assists faculty, staff, and students with IT Services relatedproblems over the phone, via email, and work order requests. Relies on personalknowledge and skill to determine the source of the problem, independentlyidentifies the cause, and determines the appropriate solution to solve theuser's problems. Often, these problems are new and unknown and require new andpreviously un-tested solutions to address the issue. Further determinespriorities when multiple demands are made, and decides on the best course ofaction to follow and which problems are critical. Duties include: * Ordering services, user education and training, troubleshooting avariety of user problems and concerns, and serves as a technology resource forcampus users. * Manage complex issues to determine the customer requests and theproblems they are experiencing. Customer often provides symptoms of the problemand the Entry Level IT Professional must determine the cause of the problem,the appropriate solution to the problem, and the process for solving theproblem. The Entry Level IT Professionalmust then communicate the solution to the customer and assist the customer inits implementation. * Troubleshoot and resolve as many problems as possible consideringnumerous and variable circumstances. * Diagnose issues withpersonal computers based on hardware or a variety of software programs. Possible problems and solutions to computerissues can vary in nature and be very complex and previously un-identified. Usescustomer feedback to break down the problem, analyzes possible solutions,create new process and procedures for addressing the issue, and utilizes bestjudgment to determine the practical course of action. * Aids in File and PrintServices to back up user data; Entry Level IT Professional assists indetermining when the event occurred, formulating the request and determiningwhat information is needed. This may include requests not previouslyexperienced in which the Entry Level IT Professional must identify problemswith operational systems and devise solutions to address customer problems. * Enable access toencrypted machines that users are unable to access due to variablecircumstances, assists customer in accessing needed data, educates users oncampus security policies and recommends best practices. * Assists and instructsusers in connecting to University resources via the network, and remote networkaccess systems. Desktop Support Duties: * This position will be responsible for training with DesktopServices staff and to provide onsite technical support as needed by the team. On-Call Duties: * A pager is required for these duties as occasionally these dutiesmay require off-hours and on-call support. * The on-call, after-hourprofessional must be familiar with basic Help Desk functions and be able toprovide Tier I remote/phone support. Theemployee will be provided with a pager, Blackberry, after-hours bag, notebook,University laptop, spare batteries, power chargers, and procedures guides. For the entire period of time the employee isthe after-hours professional on duty, the employee is expected to have theafter-hours bag and equipment, be in a location that has internet access, andmust be able to respond to pages received within 15 minutes.
