New Iron is looking for an Application Security Architect for leading our clients application security program. This is a role focused on people, process, frameworks and tools to support a secure SDLC. The ideal candidate with be an expert with application security principles and practices and have a background working in an application development and coding environment within a business. This is an opportunity to lead a global group of talented engineers building innovative security software products.
Primary Responsibilities
Partner with senior leaders to define and build a secure SDLC and determine the security standards for product development.
Develop secure coding policies, procedures and standards.
Identify security requirements and incorporate into secure development practices.
Organize and lead teams with the design, integration, development and implementation of specific security policies, systems and services.
Provide capability and education on app security architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions.
Coordinate how appsec requirements underpin the current security requirements established by leadership
Manage and develop strong global software development engineering teams and a strong, positive software engineering culture.
Track record of successfully delivering large-scale, cloud-deployed and secure web applications
7+ years experience with application security, authentication ad authorization, identity, access management, security testing,
4+ years experience deploying cloud deployed applications
Significant experience with Project Management
Experience with Product Development, Application Security, Leadership
Deep application development experience
Experience with Firewalls, RASP and Security Assessment Tools

The Tech Lead / Application Architect at VMware showcases your ability to provide technical leadership to an engineering team while also being trusted to match an effective solution design to a business problem. The Staff Engineering Leader / Application Architect will: * Show effective, and constructive communication, teamwork, and delivery skills * Work with a small team of highly capable engineers, and designers using Agile engineering practices, continuous integration, and continuous delivery models. * Climb new technology learning curves while learning the Windows 10 modern device management domain. * Break down coarse grained engineering problems, make just enough design, factor in non-functional requirements (scale, maintainability, performance) get agreement, and own the effort to delivery. * Collaborate with other engineering leads, UX designers, and product managers to build on each other's ideas to craft effective solutions * Bring a strong sense of solution ownership What you'll bring along: * BSCS or equivalent required. * 8-12+ years relevant experience building internet enabled (web, mobile, services) enterprise-class software systems and services, or strong products. * Thorough understanding of design patterns, and how to apply them to various problems * Relevant experience with micro services design, and development * Abilities to rationalize the technology choices against the business problem, and engineering team capabilities * 2+ years of JavaScript experience working on SPA based applications (ie.
