Summary/Objective

The Application Scientist will support and lead method development using novel PWR technology, in a variety of applications, including drug discovery, protein interaction, and etc.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and lead method development using novel PWR technology, in a variety of applications, including drug discovery, protein interaction, and etc
• Participate in internal and external collaborative meetings
• Provide user experience; contribute to software and hardware development
• Lead routine maintenance of lab and instrument.
• Work closely and communicate effectively with team members and external collaborators and customers.
• Co-write and co-publish results with collaborators.
• Knowledge in analytical chemistry, surface chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, protein sciences, molecular biology, especially assay development.
• Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry instruments, including but not limited to chromatography, mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, spectroscopy.
• Knowledge and experience with label-free technology.
• Experience with analytical techniques and assay validation is a plus.
• May take part in assembly and maintenance of instrument
• May do any required testing of instrumentation (hardware or software, or otherwise management of instrumentation)

Requirements

• BS/BA in chemistry or biochemistry with 2-5 years or advanced degrees with 0-2 years of professional experience.
• Preferred qualification: Hands-on experience with optical instruments, surface plasmon resonance experience, customer facing experience
• Preferred qualifications: SPR

 Additional Notes

• May require occasional travel primarily within North America and China
• Attention to detail and an analytical mind.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Motivation to excel in both individual and team environments.

Tools and Technology Used

• Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook…)
• Lab equipment and related software

Work Environment & Mental and Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position; move; operate and use required equipment; and reach items.
• Ability to move/transport up to 30 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to communicate, converse with others, and exchange information
