Summary/Objective

The R&D Application Scientist will be responsible for developing and implementing new product applications, conducting research, and providing technical support to customers using novel PWR technology in a variety of applications, including drug discovery, protein interaction, etc. The Application Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and contribute to the company's growth and success.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead developing and optimizing new product applications through experimental design and execution.
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive products.
    • Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting application issues and recommending solutions.
    • Collaborate with other R&D team members, marketing/sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches and commercialization.
    • Generate application notes, technical documents, reports, and presentations to communicate research findings and product applications.
    • Stay current on industry developments and participate in scientific conferences and seminars to enhance expertise. Requirements

    • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field.
    • Master's degree in the relevant fields with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in research and development, preferably in analytical chemistry, surface chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, protein sciences, molecular biology, especially assay development.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry instruments, including but not limited to chromatography, mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, and spectroscopy.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in experimental design and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Innovative thinking and a passion for developing new applications and solving complex problems.
  • Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with SPR technology

 Additional Notes

  • May require occasional travel, primarily within North America and China
  • Attention to detail and an analytical mind.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Motivation to excel in both individual and team environments.

  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook…)

Work Environment & Mental and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position; move; operate and use required equipment; and reach items.
  • Ability to move/transport up to 30 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to communicate, converse with others, and exchange information
