Job Summary

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Application Programmer Analyst III to contribute to the variety of perspectives and excellence of our department and to assist the faculty and staff of our fast-paced research center. The CCTS supports campus research professionals to ensure they are able to meet their research goals and ultimately improve the health of our communities and populations. Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to funding innovative, early stage translational research. The CCTS's vision is to catalyze clinical and translational discoveries through an integrated and transformative research environment targeting improved health, with emphasis on underserved populations in Kentucky. In support of that vision, the Application Programmer Analyst III's role will serve as a team member of the CCTS Biomedical Informatics Core.

The Application Programmer Analyst III will lead a team of REDCap developers to work with evolving Microsoft, open-source, and web standard technologies such as PHP, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NETMVC, C#, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and T-SQL to design, develop, and deploy web-based applications, specifically for REDCap. The candidate is responsible for the technical management, customer support, and mentorship of junior developers on assigned projects.

Successful candidates will be a highly-organized and detail-oriented developer who is flexible with working in both SysOps and DevOps environments on multiple projects with varying scale and complexity. Strong communication skills and sensitivity to client requests are required, along with the initiative and flexibility needed to adapt within evolving technical landscapes.

The CCTS is dedicated to broadening the range of perspectives within our staff and faculty and aims to build a team with an extensive spectrum of skills and experiences.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Knowledge of Microsoft, linux, open-source, and web standard technologies such asASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, C#, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and T-SQL to design and develop technologies.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience may substitute. 4+year's experience developing web based information systems using Microsoft technologies; experience leading a team of developers.
