FCA is seeking a passionate, results oriented Embedded Software Systems Analyst to join the Product Development (Vehicle and Powertrain Engineering) ICT (Information & Communication Technology) team. As an Embedded Software Systems Analyst, the selected candidate will be key in supporting growth of the existing toolset as organizations adopt standard corporate practices for software development. This role will focus on collaboration and driving common processes in support of Product Development's software engineers.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze existing business processes/tools and develop recommendations for migration of process and data into the corporate standard toolset

  • Establish a strong relationship with the process and methods teams across several engineering organizations to ensure alignment and leveraging of corporate software development tools and processes to maintain enterprise standards

  • Facilitate workshops between business partners and third party vendors throughout the tool adoption/expansion lifecycle

  • Collaborate with Vehicle & Powertrain Engineering to support tool investigations and proof of concepts to improve existing software development capabilities

  • Research emerging technologies and potential advantages to the business

  • Coordinate software upgrades, improvements, and vendor provided fixes as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT focused degree, Engineering, or Mathematics equivalent

  • Proven track record of 3+ years in IT business analysis and application support

  • Experience with software development concepts including requirements management, test case management, version control, and Agile development practices

  • Proven problem solving abilities for complex tool support challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple concurrent projects

  • Excellent communication and reasoning skills to gain support of business leaders, IT colleagues, IT leadership, and supplier partners

  • Must enjoy working in a fast paced/high energy team setting

  • Self-starter with the desire and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting software development and continuous integration tools such as ALM (IBM, code

Beamer, others), Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, and Eclipse plugins

  • Project management experience for projects with large organizational impact

  • Experience supporting a product development / engineering organization

  • Experience in handling infrastructure requirements related to applications

  • Experience in web and cloud technologies

VIEW JOBS 11/7/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-05T00:00 Autoliv is currently looking for an Application Engineer and Application Global Product Management (GPM) Leader focusing on seatbelt development at its Auburn Hills Technical Center. As a member of the Seatbelt Robustness team, this Engineer will be responsible to ensure that Autoliv develops and implements robust seatbelt components. This will be done with the use of application GPM and robust problem resolution. This Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the master drawings for application GPM components and will help develop and implement innovative solutions to chronic seatbelt design concerns. Responsibilities include: * Execution and completion of seatbelt robustness projects according to timing established by regional seatbelt management team. * Interact with Autoliv's global technical centers and other regional and global organizations of quality, industrial engineering, purchasing and project management. * Solve difficult engineering problems using tools such as DOE, Stress vs. Strain, FEA, 8D and DRBFM. * Build engineering prediction models to help estimate outcomes and ensure our products are robust and perform as expected in all situations. * Develop reliability evaluation methods that represent real world conditions. * Develop and disseminate reliability methods and lessons learned into applicable design standards and test specifications. * Work closely with the Global Product Management team to manage usage of specified commodities. * Part design and review for implementation of application GPM. * Support in design recommendations and launch of products under the control application GPM. * Root cause analysis and problem solving of seat belt issues. * Lead and participate as member of several Application GPM teams to create and maintain master drawings and ensure the implementation of the GPM initiatives for robust product design. Qualifications: * A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years' experience as an Engineer in the Automotive Industry * Proven hands-on mechanical engineering experience, preferably in seatbelt systems * Working knowledge of DOE, Stress vs. Strain (FEA, DRBFM, 8D) * Experience with directing a design team based on drawing specifications * Experience supporting cross-functional teams both locally and globally * Root cause analysis experience and problem-solving skills * Experience in project execution to targets * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Ability to prepare and present technical reports. * Willingness to work extra hours and outside of core business hours as needed to accomplish critical tasks in multiple time zones * Ability to work independently with little supervision and guidance Autoliv Auburn Hills MI
