About this Position

The Connection Systems North America (CS NA) team has an exciting opportunity for an Application Engineering Supervisor - GM. Under the direction of the Application Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the GM team. The Application Engineering Supervisor will demonstrate in-depth understanding of customer technical requirements and support customer program launches.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identify and evaluate new component business opportunities

  • Understand customer technical requirements and communicate those requirements to the organization

  • Provide engineering interface with customer

  • Facilitate customer approvals of component design, revisions and validation plans

  • Assist with product and market competitive analysis

  • Act as onsite Connection Systems customer support engineering leader

  • Support program launches with planning and ensure application engineering attends customer build events

  • Maintain and report out customer engineering formal issue tracking

  • Provide Design Request metrics and weekly Product Design Team (PDT) reviews issue list to Application Engineering Manager

  • Identify customer required program timing and changes Issue Design Requests and approval as needed

  • Willing to travel internationally as needed; domestic and local travel required as business demand requires

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in component products
  • 5+ years of customer residency experience in a similar industry
  • 1+ years of experience with GM customer EWO process; PRTS highly important

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a global team

  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently

  • Resourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environment

  • Proven ability to develop customer relations and interfaces

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (i.e. Supply Chain, Sales, Product Line Management, Engineering, etc.)

  • Willing to put in a strong effort to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved

  • Extensive background in component engineering, product types (Connectors low voltage, high voltage, high speed data cables, terminals, device, SRS, Electrical Centers)
