Altair is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Engineering student for a 2019 summer internship. This is a paid internship opportunity that offers an excellent opportunity to learn about our HyperWorks Software Suite and work directly with Altair Engineers. You will have interaction with real customers and gain a better understanding of how we apply our Software Solutions to help solve their engineering problems. There will be opportunity for you to become specialized in a specific area of the HyperWorks suite such as HyperMesh, MotionSolve, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn about the Altair Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Solver Products.

  • Provide support to Altair customers by phone.

  • Assist in developing training material for HyperWorks products.

  • Assist in HyperWorks training activities in the office.

  • Assist in developing support literature for HyperWorks products such as "Tips & Tricks" or "Frequently Asked Questions" based on your observation of the software.

  • Maintain an Issue/Request list for customers that you have been supporting.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least Junior standing currently, pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering degree.

  • Must have good communication skills.

  • Must be driven and excited to learn new technology.

  • Must have some knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.

  • Basic understanding of Solid Mechanics.

  • Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) concepts.

  • Must be a team player, able to work well with others as well as independently.

  • U.S. Person required due to government contract work.

In this position you will be providing database and programming support (C#, .NET and/or SQL) to projects under the Training & Logistics Services Growth & Innovation Organization. You will be responsible for assisting in tasks related to software design, development/sustainment and implementation within a Web and PC client environments. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: * Enrolled in a bachelor degree program in a related field. * Knowledge/Experience working with relational database design concepts preferably with SQL. * Knowledge of end-user application development. * Knowledge of software design and development concepts. * Knowledge of Microsoft Software Development environment from both a Web and PC Client perspective. * Possesses good written communication skills and can compile electronic tools to combine prose and technical data in the creation of coherent presentations. * Possesses good communication skills to work with counterparts in other organization in the acquisition, verification, and monitoring of financial data necessary to support programs supported by department.
