DIRECT REPORTING: Applications Engineering Manager



Position Summary

The Application Engineer II is responsible for partnering with our global customers to provide the best pumping solution for their application. We are an Engineer-To-Order (ETO) business. This is a customer-facing position, aiding through standard support channels (phone, email, and chat), and working with many customer departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, Operations, and General Management.

Principal Activities

  • Determine best pumping solution based on the customer's operating conditions, including pump and motor sizing and selections.

  • Review engineering/technical specifications and ensure our solution is compliant.

  • Serve as the key technical liaison, working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, Operations, Customer Care, our vendors, and our global resources to modify existing offerings and create custom solutions.

  • Generate timely and accurate request for quotations.

  • Prepares and submits ETO documentation.

  • Assists with order entry of non-standard requests.

  • Create part numbers and bill of materials.

  • Drive continuous improvement rigorously.

  • Create high quality processes and work instructions.

  • Focus on delivering a positive customer experience.

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Skilled with engineering documents and technical drawings

  • Experience with domestic and international engineering industry standards

  • Self-driven and able to self-manage

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Continuous improvement and data analysis skills with ability to provide status updates to various organizational levels and drive schedule adherence.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with CRM, and ERP software systems preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years of combined experience within in Production, Engineering, Technical Support, or Customer Service, with 1-3 years in a technical capacity. Experience with rotating equipment, such as centrifugal, screw type, progressive cavity, and gear pumps is strongly preferred. Experience producing technical proposals detailing full scope of supply, evaluation, and acceptability or applicability to customer or industry standard specifications preferred.

Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing required. Education, Experience and Certifications. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association. Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.
