Overview:The Application Engineer will provide technical sales support to customers, and field sales engineers by offering application assistance and identifying cost effective solutions for their heating and temperature control requirements. Responsibilities:

  • Prepares technical price proposals

  • Enters orders, processes Material Return Authorization (MRA) requests, troubleshoots customer applications, makes product recommendations, expedites orders, etc., as is required to provide customers with the best possible customer service.

  • Works closely with Outside Sales Engineers optimizing profitable sales and growth.

  • Works with Field Sales, Sales Engineering, and Manufacturing to help resolve technical or pricing issues in the proposal stage.

  • Supports customers in Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Southern California, and Latin America.

  • Assists in fulfilling customer needs through leadership, coordination, and liaison among Field Sales, Customers, the appropriate Sales Engineering group, and Manufacturing persons.

  • Configures and proposes standard and custom thermal systems, and works with Sales Engineering on cost estimates of specials. Determines competitive situations and requests pricing through proper channel (CS/AE).

  • Immediately refers to business at risk issues to the Office Manager.

  • Assists in the planning and execution of sales and marketing strategy.

  • Communicates in English daily with customers and field sales engineers about all business activities.

  • Skilled at communicating in Spanish preferred but not required.

  • Provides premier customer support; develops and maintains exceptional client relationships

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience

This position is viewed as a possible succession candidate to a Regional Sales Manager position. Responsibilities Responsibilities * Meet with customers, architects, specification writers and industry specialists to promote Jetway products and services. * Book, plan and represent Jetway at industry shows and conventions. * Conduct written and verbal communication with customers, agents and write needed supporting documentation for project bid submissions. * Review in detail tender documentation and ensure that all required submittal materials are included with associated proposals. * Coordinate with Bids & Proposal department to develop, understand and effectively communicate the scope of work. * Support and assist Regional Sales Managers sales efforts, receiving or downloading, logging, distributing and control of tender documentation from customers. * Work in the company's sales software tool and data entry to support projects and forecasting. * Gain a technical understanding our products. Be able to discuss product options as well as have a basic understanding of the preperformance characteristics. * Develop and update proposal submittals and technical write-ups, coordinate with Bids and Proposals Department the final proposal submittal. * Commit to deadlines, working overtime when necessary. * Interact and assist other Jetway departments with requests for data. * Develop, maintain and analyze historical data regarding departmental performance. * Obtain, organize and distribute competitive information to the sales force. * Participate in internally focused cross-functional teams in product design and development process. * Must know and understand market customer base and key players within it. Understand strengths and weaknesses to better position JBT products. * Develop and maintain detailed analysis of the competitive landscape. * Assist in the definition of the product strategy roadmap. * Assist in writing sales and promotional materials. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to work with concepts such as limits, quadratic equations, and college level algebra. REASONING ABILITY Possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
