About the Role: We are looking for an Application Engineer for the footwear business who will take responsibility for the quality, training, technical consulting on both existing products and introduction/implementation of new technologies and material sets at the sites of our customers (Brands/Manufactures), vendors and factories.
This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.
Responsibilities:
Manage the technical part of our customer relationships as part of a team lead by an account manager
Provide support in style development at our customers to ensure styles meet our performance standards prior to production
Drive training of all relevant personnel at both the brand office and factories on quality procedures and manufacturing processes to ensure the finished product meets our exacting standards consistently
Be a consultant for our brand partners on issues of costing, sourcing, and production operations
Support our R&D efforts by bringing back knowledge learned from our partners around limitations and needs, and new material/manufacturing concepts
In cooperation with R&D to support manufacturing readiness of new technologies/materials
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of work experience in the footwear, sports, and/or material suppliers to the industry
Proven knowledge of footwear constructions and manufacturing
Proven customer service experience
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Strong communication skills and ability to influence while consulting
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize commitments
Proven ability to develop a deep understanding of what the customers value and how to deliver it
Ability to travel up 50% (primarily within the Americas - with occasional overseas travel)
